Awesome.

[PS / PS2 Settings] has been added as an option. - Emulation enchantemts? Or maybe some settings for games that require instalation...

o [Zero Unused Disk Space] has been added as an option under [System Settings] > [Format Utility]. - Whats this?

o XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) is now accessible during gameplay. - Hell yeah!

o [Energy Saver] has been added as an option. - Nice. Very nice.

XMB during gameplay sounds good if its what we all want it to be. But when is 2.00 supposed to be released?

o [Zero Unused Disk Space] has been added as an option under [System Settings] > [Format Utility]. - Whats this?
I wwas somewhat baffled by the wording of this one as well but I assume it means the format utility actually writes zeros all over the empty areas of the harddrive. Rather than just clearing the file allocation table or whatever it uses.

o XMBâ„¢ (XrossMediaBar) is now accessible during gameplay. - Hell yeah!
Hmm. I never missed it I must say.

o [Energy Saver] has been added as an option. - Nice. Very nice.
Yea about time hehe.

Peace.

I'd like to see the bluray player scaling the image to 720P instead of 480P if 1080 res is unavailable.

It apparantly DID do this at one time but then it was changed to this bizarre behavior in an update back in december last year I believe.

Peace.

o Support for PLAYSTATION®3 format software titles has been expanded.

Any thoughts? Maybe...um...dual-layer BRD game support?

I´m gonna use all these:
[Dynamic Normalizer] has been added as an option under [Sound Settings].
[Energy Saver] has been added as an option.
Wallpaper feature has been added.
[Zoom] has been added as a feature.
CD information can now be entered.

Files can now be played sequentially.
You can now select [Zoom] under [Screen Mode] when playing video files saved on the hard disk or storage media.*.
XMBâ„¢ (XrossMediaBar) is now accessible during gameplay.
[RSS Channel] has been added as a feature.
You can now select an image to use as your Avatar from [Photo].
File sorting has been changed.

Espcially the "Files can now be played sequentially", about time...

I just hope they work a bit more on the supported file types, like .TS files and .MP4 support.

[PS / PS2 Settings] has been added as an option. - Emulation enchantemts? Or maybe some settings for games that require instalation...
No PS games ever needed installing so it won't be that.

Hopefully it will be some enhancements. Maybe RSX can apply liberal portions of AA to the rendered output of the GS (Don't know if it's at all possible to do though)

Great list of features if true.
I really hope it's coming before the summer!

One thing I'd love is gapless playback of music albums though.

LOL/ Antyfanboy...well when it's a beast of an update like this...I think it deserve a step up in the numeral department.

And ps. The original post has been edited by Sony admins (even though nearly every member has quoted it)...and then reedited by the user two times and then removed completely. Sounds very much like the Kotaku and Sony problems...so I expect it's legit. And it would be a very elaborate prank wouldn't it

It does at least sound legit. Probably won't be long before we get it, judging from how things go with the PSP.

DTS-HD Master Audio decoding would have been nice along with the ability to stream audio/video from a networked PC or NAS. Everything else looks awesome.

o The method of selecting an output resolution has been changed in [Video Output Settings] under [Display Settings].
I hope this will allow me to "tell" the PS3 that although my TV can display 1080i, I would rather it didn't unless I am watching a blu-ray movie.
