Some Advice from the pro's

Hey guys. I've not posted here for a couple of years and well Im kinda surprised my profile still is available. Im not disapointed lol..

Anyhow I've not been watching the market very closely at all over that time and am looking for a good price/performance card.. mid range price with decent performance dx10/vista not terribly important. Suppose I could get a decent recomendation amd/nvidia.. don't care. Thanks in advance.

aight guys.. anyone got some adivice? I don't know the particulars of the market anymore. I still know a fair bit I learned from Beyond3d but you know the market is so tricky. Just looking for a decent performer in the sub $200 canadian price range. (PCI-e) Here is a Canadian retailer with fair pricing.

Its not for me its for a frend. Atm he's only integrated graphics. Not too worried about gaming beyond 1280x1024.

Yeah the x1950 pro would be my choice.. If I can convince him to spend the extra $ I'll recomend that. 7900GS is something I didn't consider I'll look it up. Thanks alot.

Both above cards are good.. whichever he prefers really.

The 7600GT is a bit weedy for some of the latest games even at 1280*1024 e.g. NFS: Carbon. But if he insists then it is not a bad buy and would be so much better than any integrated poop.
