Somehow I just wonder if the video is realtime? Maybe I have to wait till PS4.

I looks real time, minus the AA. I don't know if they added bullshot AA or if its just because they downscaled it from 1080p native that it looks like it has FSAA.

In the few 1080p shots you can see it still does not have AA in game. Still looks pretty hot though.

I don't know if it's the crappy animated gif, but it just looks like two textures, one for up and one flat not any sort of simulated grass being blown by wind.

The grass patch texture bends goes down and up just in 2 steps but it is a "simulation" of wind affecting it when the car passes (perhaps 'faking wind effect' is a better choise of word). Still a nice simple little effect that adds to the game!

I'd say its just the car shadow passing over the grass.

+ the cars themselves and the car interior looks awesome.
- Ugly 2d trees. I hope they`re placeholders.
Surface textures are rough too. Not so bad in the car, but the overhead shots show the grass tiles. That really gets my goat! It can't be too hard to elliminate that with these uber-power consoles.

Other than a few let-down areas, the cars look gobsmackingly good, as you'd expect.

Am I the only noticed that it says "Los Angels" or "Los Angel5" ?

(its probably Los Angeles, the pic just makes it look awkward :p )

Awesome screens, especially the Fairlady ones

Hope GT5 or GT6 will use SPUs to perform post processing effects so we can have replay mode graphics while playing the game at 60 fps ;)

That last shot shows more than 5 different models for those keeping score ;)

I think I see 6, although the cars in the distance are really hard to ID. :)

They're probably aiming for at least the same number of unique cars as in previous GTs.

Apparently I'm going mad or something, but the latest car select screenshots which Polyphony put out alongside the supersampled replays look to be upscaled to 1080p. A noticeable contrast to the car select images they put out just last week!

I notice a lot of Aliasing in this screen, strange for the presentation car…

Memory issue officially debunked then for now.

They're clearly hitting memory limits as otherwise they'd be showing off a bunch of unique models in those shots of 15-16 cars instead of stamping out so many of the same car. And I don't really mind, since it means more detail per car.

There's nothing "clear" about that.. If you're familiar with GT games then you'd recall the numerous themed races restricted to a single or small number of car types qualifying entry..

Let's wait until there's more information before making claims that the next batch of released screenshots could just as easily debunk..

If the older GT games are any indicator, hopefully that's what will happen. If not with GT5 then surely with GT6.

Wow. Even in 1080p 60fps with 16 cars on the racing grid (with fully rendered interiors) people are still being retarded? I thought the days of "omg this is ugly" had passed once Sony proved that the PS3 is clearly a step above the competition, once it's power is harnessed?

Crazy town.

The Prologue screenshot showed a field including a Clio V6, a Mustang, and an NSX (amongst others). The field restriction, if there is one for a glamour shot, is probably just horsepower, so many more cars could have qualified.

Of course there are other theories aside from memory restrictions that can explain why there are so many duplicates in those shots, so I should have said "probably" or "possibly" instead of "clearly". Stupid habit I picked up from forums. :)

So let me get this straight. You're trying to imply that these are bullshots and that the number of cars shown are a 'limitation' of the consoles power?

Let me ask you this. With Polyphony stating it takes them quite a while to fully render the interior and exterior of each car, what makes you think they simply did not have a lot of models with completely finished interiors etc to show off?

Why so many doomsayers? Why can no one seem to accept the game looks stunning, and it's a huge accomplishment? It's stupid to say "well it seems like there is a limitation" just because it passes up not only Forza 2, visually and technically (as far as number of cars on the grid) but also PGR4.

Please tell me what it is so difficult to say "hey, we'll wait and see what it's really doing".

Afterall, Lair is 1080p native, so why must this game, that is significantly less organic than Lair, be "1080p upcaled" and have lots of negative input from self proclaimed experts?

They've had Escort Cosworth Rally versions and of course the RS200 which I think is the closest you are ever going to get.
