Sorry. I have the flu and I'm stuck inside the house all day. I'm going to sleep now, I promise.

You know, I could see microtransactions being effective for silly things like this in multiplayer online games etc. Especially if devs standardised character models to allow the purchase of a "virtual character" to be used across multiple games. But even if limited to one game if cheap enough I could see this type of thing doing well.

That probably means H3 arrives November...

Hmmm how does this release schedule look then? (big games)

2007
Jan - Lost Planet
Feb - Crackdown
Mar - GRAW2
Apr - GHII
May - Forza Motorsports 2
Jun - Shadowrun
Jul - Bioshock
Aug - Blue Dragon
Sep - Mass Effect
Oct - GTA4
Nov - Halo 3
Dec - Lost Odyssey

I predict PGR4 and Too Human will go Q1 08.

2008
Jan - Too Human
Feb - PGR4

I thoughed that Bioshock was further of than July. It is a bit unfortunate if ME is delayed, it is by far one of my most anticipated games, but so is Bioshock so if that comes in July it ain't too bad...

There have been an unusually high number of threads recently speculating about the release date for Mass Effect or what rating it will recieve from the ESRB.

Currently we also do not have an official release date for Mass Effect.

Currently we do not yet have a final ESRB rating for Mass Effect.

When we do have either an official release date or when we know what the ESRB rating for Mass Effect will be, we will make a formal announcement and there will likely be a thread or two discussing such announcements.

Remember, until you hear about it officially on these forums or the main Mass Effect webpage, there is no release date. Everything is speculation. Stay tuned.

Damn the 4th quarter is going to be insanity.

GTA4, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Bioshock, PGR4, DMC4, Assassins Creed, UT2007 and some more that are escaping me at the moment.

Do you guys think the 360 userbase can support all of these games being released in such a period of time?

I think if you look at the list (and you forgot Blue Dragon I think) there is, along with the inevitable yearly refreshes of titles like Madden and Fifa, something for most tastes there. You'd have to have pretty specialist preferences to not find something there to like. You've got racing, shooters, RPGs, action games, multiplayer-centric games, and like you say, there is certainly more than you've mentioned.

Most likely it will be legendary, everything points to that direction. I probably have to start playing Jade Empire to get a Bioware fix until this game arrives. Looking at all this fall and holiday season titles it is becoming more apparent that I'll have to get a loan to be able purchase all these titles :)

Let alone games that may normally would see a more niche audience.. This may well put pressure on the smaller developers to get their products out the door earlier. For example I'm really interested to see what Haze comes out like, yet if the game were to slip it's schedule, it'd be toast in terms of sales - and thats with competition like shadow run, halo3 beta, and all the other FPS games comming out in the next 6 months. There is an absolute load of other games probably in a similar situation.

It's a double edged sword. Loads of awesome games, and ironically a userbase that probably can't yet drive the sales they all deserve (when taken as a whole).
Haze for example, all of Free radicals past games have all sold 1m+, I'm wondering how long it will take this time around.

As for mass effect's release date, didn't one of the developers quote that the game wouldn't need to be at E3? I think that was what suggested the may/june release rumour.
