Okay, throwing this out here to see if I can grab some quick help.

Basically tonight I made the complete switch (everything but games) to Ubuntu from Windows. Everything has been going great, except:

I'm trying to install Flash for Firefox. I've grabbed the flashplugin-nonfree package and used Package Installer to install the package, the first time this was going the power went out (damn storm!), so I when I got back into Ubuntu and tried to do this again every time I run Package Installer I get a message saying only one software management tool is allowed to run at a time.

So I checked to see what other processes were running that could be doing this, well none showed up. This is where I'm at. I've tried rebooting again, still no luck.

Argh, frustrating!

Chances are a temporary file was not cleaned up. Chances are the files are written in /var, if you can find them, delete them and you should be fine.

Hmm, this will require some serious google action. What's the name of the package management front-end that you're using? Adept?
