Southern England

I think nutball comes from Essex ....
Now there's no need for that... although a friend of mine once said "Southend may not be the end of the world but from there you can see where to put the suppository".:???:
e) Leeds castle .
Agreed. Leeds castle is very pleasant.
d) You can go to France for a day trip on the tunnel.
Though if you can't spare the time for that, you can visit a "French Chateau" in Buckinghampshire.

Very nice it is too. :)

There's also Cliveden in Maidenhead, which is the same deal except with an Italian twist and spiffing views of the river. Top hole, what what.

You an NT member as well then? Cliveden is on our "to visit" list.

Yup - well, the family is. Not quite sure how that works. I haven't been to Cliveden either - just going on good reports from other people.

It might be rubbish. :D

For fishing, sailing, mountain biking and a trip to Battle to see where the Saxons lost England to the the Norman bastards, Bewl Water is a worth a visit.

Dayamn. . . I thought only William was a bastard. . . they all were?

;)

See, a good example of the danger of taunting people with a hurtful nickname!
