HD DVD-ROM drive hooked up to a PC is immediately recognized. I wonder if this drive will work with Vista and some HD DVD playback software.

I think MS has said that XP/2K is not secure enough for HD DVD.

not secure enough? ahhahaha its' more like they dont want it to be.....I use my PCs for watching movies....

Well it's gonna be quite some time before we get portable HD DVD players...if at all....I think DVD is going to be around for quite some time yet...........

When they say secure, they're talking about copy protection and piracy. According to MS XP is ill equipped for a robust copy protected environment for HD movies. In other words XP allows for easy hacking of HD DVD.
