hi guys, de-lurking here and just posting about a webpage me and some friends have set up which outlines and compares the capabilities of current graphics cards:

http://www.finaldigits.com/GraphicsCards.aspx

which i thought you might find of interest. probably not technical enough for a lot of people here, but hey :)

i hope some of you find it a useful reference, and let us know what you think. thanks.

forgot the vista link! =D fast response! btw i love the graphs. makes it easier on the eyes then just numbers.

vista link

got that too, thanks a lot, you only ever notice and pay attention to these things when someone else points them out to you!

Ati cards have 48 shader processor not 48 alus, they have 48 full alus and 48 mini alus, so thats that.

Thats really well done. cookies all round

People should print it out and put it in the graphics section of electronic stores :)

The "pixel fillrate" part of the graphs for x1900 and x1600 is somewhat misleading - these are processed pixel fragemnts and should not be counted as fillrate because the particular GPUs actually could not fill the screen buffer with such ammount of processed pixel values given their output capabilities.
