The increase in indirect texturing units is intriguing.


Notice the focus on FSAA, it purpose seems to be geared towards there decision to pass up HD resolutions.

This first patent is an update of the Flipper patent, the update is from 18 March 2005:

It seems that all this patents are the complete version of the Flipper pattents, you only need to see the Cross Reference section from the first patent.
