The Most Romantic/Slow Song

Barry Manilow - Mandy. ;)

Oooh, the Power Ballads! I think if I was going to take a Manilow tho, as much as I like "Mandy", that I'd go for "Weekend in New England".

All that I am - Joe
Naked - Marques Houston
In between the sheets - the isley brothers
Cause I love you - Lenny Williams
Sweetest Taboo - Sade
Cherish - Kool N The Gang
Superstar - Luther Vandross
So Amazing - Luther Vandross
Angel - Anita Baker
Sweet love - Anita Baker
You bring me joy - Anita Baker
Can You stand the Rain - New Edition
Get Here - Brenda Russell
Whisper - Usher
U got it bad - Usher
Lets get it on - Marvin Gaye
Lifetime - Maxwell
As We Lay - Shirley Murdock
You Send Me - Roy Ayers
Inside Your Love - Minnie Riperton
Sings of love making - Tyrese
Outa Heaven - Jagged Edge
Whatever you want - Toni Tony Tone

And thats just off the top of my head...

Although I love HipHop ( I was born and raised in Brooklyn in the seventies and eighties) I am a balladeer at heart!

..and the correct answer is: Lenny Williams - Because I Love You, not one song has ever come close to the pain he felt in losing his love, you can damn near hear the man cry, although that does mean you have to deal with some form of whining :D but damn its good.

It was kinda interesting hearing it on Overnight Celebrity - Twista, lol, but I am a Chicagoan so I let them (Kanye/Twista) slide.

Thanks for listing your favourites, they helped. The following is what I recorded for the wife (in the exact order; I'd thought I'd arrange them in some kind of "new, then old, then new" order) :

Everything I Do - Bryan Adams (that Kevin Costner "Robin Hood" song)
Let It Be - Beatles
Knocking On Heaven's Door - Eric Clapton (Yes, his reggae-ish version)
Careless Whisper - George Michael
When Man Loves A Woman - Percy Sledge
When You Believe - Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston (that "Prince of Egypt" song)
Blue Moon - Elvis Presley (I've never heard a sadder version of this song)
Have I Told You Lately - Rod Stewart (had to include a Stewart song, wife thinks he's sexy)
Can't Help Falling In Love - Elvis Presley
Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton (original)
Holding Back The Years - Simply Red
Georgia - Ray Charles
How Do I Live - LeAnn Rimes
Can You Feel The Love - Elton John ("Lion King")
Hopelessly Devoted To You - Olivia Newton John ("Grease")
Kissing A Fool - George Michael (original album version)
It's Now or Never - Elvis Presley
Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Ray Charles

Most of the songs are ripped from my CD collection. I wanted to include Beatles "Imagine" and "Yesterday" but thought that having "Let It Be" as the sole Beatles representative just makes "Let It Be" stand out more for what it is i.e. probably the best song ever written and recorded.

Tastes aside, at least half of that stuff can't be described as romantic. :???:
