The Most Romantic/Slow Song

I'm trying to build such a list (and burn a CD for the wife). I know there are so many favourites for all of you but there's one song that stuck out for me. Being 41 means there's less time for music but from the days when I listened to a huge amount of music (I still have about 600+ CDs, almost all gathering dust) and when a great slow song meant a better chance of getting a girl to dance with me (way back then, of course, mostly during my mid-to-late teens as well as early 20s), "Careless Whisper" by George Michael always brings back that nostalgic feeling.

I'd appreciate your favourites. Keep it short :)

"Wonderful Tonight" --Eric Clapton

"My Girl" --Temptations

"When a Man Loves a Woman" --Percy Sledge

"Unchained Melody" --The Righteous Brothers

"Boom Boom Boom, let's go back to my room" --Paul Lekakis (okay, just kidding!)

Elvis Presley -- Can't help falling in love.

"Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can’t help falling in love with you"

All that I am - Joe
Naked - Marques Houston
In between the sheets - the isley brothers
Cause I love you - Lenny Williams
Sweetest Taboo - Sade
Cherish - Kool N The Gang
Superstar - Luther Vandross
So Amazing - Luther Vandross
Angel - Anita Baker
Sweet love - Anita Baker
You bring me joy - Anita Baker
Can You stand the Rain - New Edition
Get Here - Brenda Russell
Whisper - Usher
U got it bad - Usher
Lets get it on - Marvin Gaye
Lifetime - Maxwell
As We Lay - Shirley Murdock
You Send Me - Roy Ayers
Inside Your Love - Minnie Riperton
Sings of love making - Tyrese
Outa Heaven - Jagged Edge
Whatever you want - Toni Tony Tone

And thats just off the top of my head...

Although I love HipHop ( I was born and raised in Brooklyn in the seventies and eighties) I am a balladeer at heart!

John Legend - Refuge (When its cold outside)
Alicia Keys - If I aint got you

Two amazing songs, there are millions more, but those two are modern classics that are often overlooked.

Maybe it`s the wrong category, but Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart really gets me. Maybe Cheap Trick - I Want You to Want Me. I`m not really into swoony stuff.

Tonight's the Night by Rod Stewart.

Ohh.

Any song that includes:

"Don’t say a word my virgin child
Just let your inhibitions run wild"

does get an automatic bye into the second round, yes.
