will r580 crossfire run r520 crossfire cards?

im trying to decide. how to mitigate my gpu cost (new machine in a month or 2 im thinking) against going with dx10 down the road...in a year maybe (or whenever games want it)

maybe get crossfire r580 and just run 1 card..512M maybe.

thinking maybe r520's will sharply drop in price if r580 smokes em good.

I would wait for a bit more considering that with the R580 maybe the games will be more CPU limited...and invest in a nice new Socket AM2 processor from AMD as well.

thanks for the tip. ddr2 support, 940 pin fx-62 sounds like a reason to wait (Q2 06)....and perhaps BTX form factor by then i read.

is AMD pretty prompt about release schedules?

if i don't want to get immediately hamstrung mboard/cpu wise like i did with my last box.

sheesh it seems almost im always waiting a few months more. suppose i need to in this case though.
