On one of those Series 60 phones I gots me 555 points for the 3D test suite.

3D Game: 9.13 fps (it's a Helicopter game, which looks fairly ok on the device)
3D FillRate: 1.93 MTexels/s (not bad at all for a 176x208 display)
3D PolyCount: 32.67 ktris/s

Some simpler 3D games certainly play ok on this device.

i have access to a lot of symbian device here at work ill try it on some of them (p800,p900,ngage,6600.3650)

My N-Gage only got 485 as a score.

Does anyone have any details of the ARM9 CPU and or any other hardware that runs in these phones?

nope it doesnt use all the screen

Well, I was just looking for a reason for the lower fps. Your P800 has more fill rate, more cpu power, but lower fps - that's a little odd.

the p800 is an symbian 7 UIQ with an arm4 cpu
at 156mhz with 14 mb of ram (not memory card)

the ngage is an symbian 6 series60 with an arm4t 104mhz with 12mb of ram
3650 is an symbian 6 series60 with the same cpu but only 4mb of ram

this is my score on a ngage

7.84 fps
1.73Mtexel
27.30 ktriangle

ill try to run it on a 6600 (symbian 7.0s series 60)

SPMark04 3D Score: 461
3D Game: 7.76 fps
3D FillRate: 1.60Mtexels/s
3D PolyCount: 26.23 Ktriangles/s

HTH

thx for the result for the 6600 :p
i dont like to use this device so i dont have to do it by myself !

when ill have time ill try the nokia 7610 and the p900

http://www.arm.com ? ;)

They are actually quite big.

I remember reading that the ARM9 chips have some PowerVR technology in them to do simple 3D rendering.

Been hearing a lot about the Nintendo DS but I haven't heard the specs of it.

Anyone have any thoughts about the DS vs N-gage/S60 hardware? Other than the dual screens and one touch screen.

I wonder how I overclock my ARM processor...and if there's space for a water block...

Theres a reason why the ARM is set at a certain clock speed. It has something to do with the phone. So overclocking is not a good idea.

I was kidding!

:)

Incidentally, I've met Sir Robin Saxby (Chairman of ARM) a few times as he has some kind of god-like status at the uni I studied at. He studied there, and now has an entire laboratory named after him! Nice bloke.

So far I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me the specs of the Nintendo DS. I've heard that it has a 66 Mhz ARM9 and a 33 Mhz ARM7. How is this compared to the S60 phones with a ARM9 104 Mhz?
