Out of boredom, I decided to run and benchmark Doom 3 using SmartShader. Here are some screenies (porthole effect, inverted, sketch, RGB-cycle, and classic in that order):
And now for the benchmark results:
System:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard
Athlon XP 2100+ (1.74 GHz)
512 MB DRR PC2700 RAM
ATI Radeon 9500 Pro 128 MB
Catylist 4.9 Beta Drivers (6.14.10.6476)
Doom 3 Graphical Configuration:
Texture Quality: Medium
Resolution: 800x600 no AF, no FSAA
Shadows, bump mapping, specular mapping, and advanced effects enabled
No vertical synchronization
Running timedemo demo1.demo:
No effect - 38.8 FPS
Classic - 35.1 FPS
Porthole - 34.9 FPS
Sketch - 30.3 FPS
Inverse Color - 35.4 FPS
RGB Cycle - 34.7 FPS
I would have benchmarked the ASCII effect, but I couldn't read the results!
