Misc Gaming Thread

THANKS! I'd heard of something like that, but never actually bothered to check it out!! Thanks!

Now, one thing. Why is it that PC games are cheaper than console games?

You can set the japanese SH4 to english language.

Then what will be the difference between it and English vers? But I may get it if it is true. I can't wait.

Hi,

I can confirm the following about the PAL release of Silent Hill 4:

1. English, German (Deutsch), French (Francais), Italian (Italiano) and Spanish (Espanol) subtitles.
2. No 60 Hz mode. Small black borders, I did not notice any difference in 'speed'.

That's it

Yeah I can see where you come from on display thing. Anyway after seeing PC version near perfect look on TV, I was pretty much won over too, so I may as well hold off on PS2 SH4.

And SH is a slow game which i don't think will suffer too much from the lack of a controller. I'll still miss it though...
Although speaking of this, why not get one of these?

Playing SilentHill game with mouse and KB feels like you're violating the game in a way :p
Or you could always go for one of those DS clones for PC. I dunno if they're any good though, I never actually tried using one.

I use ELECOM's (Japanese) USB PS2 gamepad adaptor for PC, the key map is simply perfect for SH3 (exactly the same as PS2 SH3).

Publisher don't pay royalties on PC. A contrario, on console the publisher can't get away without giving ~15% of the price as a license fee.

Many GameCube games sell almost as cheap as PC games nowadays. Bless Nintendo. ^^

That's the 20% Desperation Fee.

The japanese magazine Shonen Jump says Kingdom hearts 2 won't be released before 2005 (In Japan of course).

Since last KH was fastly translated (Voices and texts BTW), maybe this one will also escape the Square-Enix "localisation that last 1 years 1/2" curse.

Atari Ships 2.5 Million Units of 'DRIV3R' (PS2/Xbox) Worldwide

Atari, Inc. today announced that it has shipped 2.5 million units of its highly anticipated DRIV3R to retails outlets worldwide (that doesnt mean they actually "sold" that many though ed.). Since DRIV3R hit store shelves on June 21 in the U.S. and June 22 in Europe and Australia, consumer demand has been extremely strong

hm, i played a bit this game and must say I didn't liked it that much

DRIV3R got ~50% on gamespot and IGN. There is actually a huge scandal going on at gamesradar.com because two magazines belonging to that site gave 9/10. Rumour is ATARI promised some exclusives to magazines that gave 9/10. And those magazines got an exclusive. You can all read it up in the forums there.

So did dreamcast games....not sure if it was just towards the end of their life or throughout the entire thing though.(I think only the less hyped gamecube games are $40, a new zelda would be $50)

BTW, is deus ex 2 still $50 on pc? I avoided buying that since it was more than the $40 I was used to paying for a pc game.

Anyone know Dengeki's reviews for "Digital Devil Saga" and "Uo Legend of 7 Waters"? Oh and a brief summary of what the reviewers liked and didn't like will be nice. Thanks muchly.

It's 29.99$ now!

Just an advice, if you enjoyed the demo then go ahead buy it, but if you thought the demo was bad (or worse), then save you money. :D
