Accurate Human Rendering in Game [2019-2021]

In the second 1943: RoH talk, they said the scanning and rigging was done by 3Lateral. There's obviously other companies doing good work, but they seem to deliverer every time.

Hellblade 2 has the best characters I've seen in cutscenes even exceeding Callisto Protocol. Top character and animation quality. The characters also look good during gameplay but there they don't stand out so much from other games like Callisto Protocol in terms of quality. In addition, the lighting sometimes bleeds through the clothing. That looks unrealistic. Pathtracing would help here.

Other (main) characters in cutscene, my camera placement (camera and characters can be moved in photomode in cutscene). Like in other games there are different quality tiers for characters.

it kind of reminds me of the PS1 era CGI, where sometimes the modelisations were looking great (for the time) but animations were bad.

KojiPro, 3lateral Metahuman & Decima, incredible lifelike results.
