General post - not a reply to Jayco now:
As for the politics Sony's pulling the game, there was no other option assuming Sony didn't want to make an exception for one game in regards of full refunds to anyone, no matter how many hours they played as CDPR wanted and announced. Now this is possible as the game is officially broken on PS. Gamers wanting to take advantage of finishing this game and getting refund are happy, no new gamers are allowed to buy game and pull the same trick (makes financial sense) and will have to wait for a stable release in the future.
Microsoft was and is more generous with refund policy and they are happy to keep selling and refunding this game, but they are probably going to check game progress and judge case by case, but I don't know how this will work.
As for crunch, there is more than one side to this and while some people are not able or willing to put more hours, others are very happy to do if it's paid extra. I have utmost respect to all the artists, musicians, sound effect specialists, programmers, actors and supporting staff working on any ambitious project. Management is a crucial part of it as well, but they have to take decisions which often are verified by time and in a lot of cases can be incorrect, that's how humans learn.
I know quite a few people working at CDPR, Techland, EA and more. Was part of a game dev. project in my youth, actively participated in Demo Scene (hence connections to these people) and know how lofty dreams can be quickly revised by reality and how much time takes bringing good ideas to 90% completion to then just find out that the last 10% will need double the effort.
Anyway, I'm going back to Night City, there are hundreds of things to do there which I haven't done yet ... secrets to uncover, glitches to experience and the STORY!
