Playstation 5 [PS5] [Release November 12 2020]

It took me quite a while to understand that.
Sorry I'm terrible at explaining things, I always have been.
Sure the xbox is quite a bit smaller (and IMO its certainly a much easier shape to deal with, I prefer the xbox shape) though with those massive holes at the top, I would not stand it upright, any spillage of liquid would mean instant death to the console

Christ. I made the mistake of watching a bit of those frankly useless Japanese youtubers playing on their PS5 and now my YouTube recommendations are basically all incomprehensible Japanese videos. Great.
did you get recommended the virtual waifu demo? I've had virtual mate plaster all my ads spaces lately. I'm unsure of what I clicked on, but damn, I must say this virtual AI porn bit is advancing quickly.

As a pc gamer, i can live with a large console case aslong its 'silent' and doesnt run hot etc. Also the quality of the cooling and overall system components. The PS4 fan was kinda time consuming to replace..... The whole console has to be taken apart basically.
Rather a large ps5 that runs cool and queit then a small one thats noisy and hot. Looks promising that they cant hear the console and feels cold to the touch.

Wonder why they where gaming in 30 degree celcius rooms btw.

They still have few weeks to do so. Honestly, the hype is already here, they just need a final push one-two weeks before launch imo.

In Sweden the PS5 is rather well known already.... And thats with minimal advertising from Sony itself (if anything). Strangely enough, many, even non tech intrested gamers, got their first touch on PS5 with the nanite UE5 demo in the spring of this year.

Xbox is basically not even existing here, be it current gen or next gen. It's PC and Playstation here, think its the same for the whole of europe and asia. It will remain an upphill battle for MS to gain market share here i think.

Nothing against the Japanese market, but Sony should be focusing more on the U.S., Canadian and European markets where streamers/influencers have a greater reach. Sony's biggest markets IMHO.

Last time japanese and japanese media felt Sony disrespect them a little. It is a japanese company. We will probably see UI and hand on next week on western market. I know one french site Gamekult in a livestream said they wait to receive PS5 and they know the end of the embargo date but they can't say when it is.

Hopefully this means even with variance in fan frol different suppliers, all PS5 will be quiet. No more nidec fan lottery.

Sorry I was unclear. Your post was clear and I understand it. But it took me awhile to see the picture thr way you see it because my brain automatically accounts for the perspective.

I understand your view point after I scrolled the page and some part of the picture was covered by the browser window.

Then "Oooooh! I see it now!"

Hi-res photo(~10MB each)

Air flows from the top and the bottom, out from the back.
Seems like using centrifugal fan.
Can't see any heat sink from outside.

What the fork? It's high glossy black? All of the previous rendersske it looks like it got matte bumpy/rough finish with a bit glossy paint. Like the black parts on PSVR and on PS5 gamepad.

Not this smooth ultra high gloss thing

I noticed that as well and was just as disappointed. I hate glossy, shiny plastics. I really dislike the design of the PS5, but imo, only the original PS4 of all the playstations had a design that I liked.

Original PS4 and ps2 slim, I like.

Btw this means we can't carelessly wipe PS5 if we don't want it to have tons of scratches that visible when it catches light.

Same with blindly plugging usb stuff.

lots of the japanese reviews point to a cool running system despite being in a warm climate. This bodes well; one my shelves has a door covering. I can remove it in theory, but I'd prefer to leave it on, but it's comforting knowing I may be able to get away with placing it in there sideways. XSX reviews a toasty device (non-retail) so far, so that sounds like it needs to be open air

Looking good. There are a lot of cool references in Astrobot to other games. I loved the little reference to LocoRoco for instance.

And yeah, tough games where you die a lot are about to become more fun for some games. Astrobot already had basically instant respawns for checkpoints but Godfall looks like a title that otherwise could have had longer restart times.

And in general man I am looking forward to lack of load-times. It’s been a while since gaming was this user-friendly on the bigger consoles.

Getting a good impression so far from the new controller too. And the quiet and cool system is what I hoped and expected so far, hope it holds up and can’t wait until digital foundry and the likes get a hold of one to confirm.

I think most of us share your opinion on this.

BTW, it's "than", not "then". You do that a lot.

Yes, components that run hot usually have a shorter lifetime, atleast thats what i thinkoff when reading ’toasty’.
Silent and cool are more important to me over size. Also no dust collecting inside and ease of access.

Ah ok il try to think of that, not my native language ;)
