Japanese prices are actually the same as before and I've been buying Japanese versions for reasons, so... welcome?

I'm telling you, both MS/Sony are lossing major money on BOM cost. They need the current generation system sales to offset some of the losses (including game price hikes).

I know. But one company was transparent about it...the other talked up "generations"

Well if it's like the PS4, you need the disc in to play.

Also remember that the disc player is Bluray UHD 4K so you can play 4K movies on it which is nice to know.

How much are good UHD Blu Ray players these days, more than the $100 price delta between the two PS5 SKUs?

I see some 2019 PS4 games on PSN which are under $20. Is that typical of download games, price declines as fast as the disc games, like the Greatest Hits collections?

If that's the case, it might be worth buying digital instead of disc games, just to avoid the annoyance with discs.

But may still go for the disc version, if UHD Blu Ray players run more than $200.

However, I remember on the PS3, the DVD player made the fan run loud, not so great for watching movies.
