Origin Access exists on PC since 2014 but never joined Steam.

EA has dared to make the move to Steam after years with EA Access in Origin Access. I have several games on Origin but I haven't used the service much, except to play Dragon Age Origins, Peggle and Crysis 2.

For the price of a game, it pays off a lot because you get an incredible list of games!

Game library includes: Peegle, Command & Conquer, Dragon Age Plants vs Zombies, Mirror Edge, Sims 4, Madden, NBA Live - I expect the ultimate NBA Live once that it competes with NBA 2k-, Star Wars galore of games, all Crysis, all modern and old Battlefield, FIFA, Need for Speed..., etc.

There are loads of sports games.
My childhood's best friend told me that those are the kind of games he plays - sports and Battlefield - and on Xbox One he's going to get EA Access too even though he told me that he has to pay gold to play online when it's free on PC -- he's actually thinking about moving to PC.

And there are already crossplay games with all platforms, such as need for Speed Heat.

For the price of a game I am going to get it for a full year, that's for sure.

With this and gamepass PC I have games for my entire life.

This is the list of games available right now for PC on Steam. We even have Mr. Shifty.:mrgreen:

My best friend who showed me the list of games on his console, said he is going to buy a PC after reading this list, 'cos it features a LOT more games than the EA Access on consoles, which already has lots of good modern games btw.

The service is available already!

I have subscribed to the EA Play for 3.99o month. I'm finally going to be able to play Mass Effect at a very good framerate. There's a lot of good games to choose from.

Well, I was not a big fan of Origin, but EA Play on Origin gives access to 289 games, and the Steam version, while having GREAT games, can't compare. I like EA a lot, 'cos my first game ever was the original The Need for Speed (along with Microsoft Golf).

So I paid for a subscription on Origin and I couldn't be happier -there is also EA Play Pro, 19,99€ month or 99,99€ a single pay-.

currently downloading Battlefield 1. I got Need for Speed Heat. I liked the game and it has gotten amazing HDR. Animations and facial expressions are surprisingly good -Ana's and the players avatars specially-. Another great advantage is that it has cross-play.

I liked the game and I got the DLC of the McLaren F1, which costs 4.49€, we go more than my monthly subscription.

This is the best subscription service I've ever had, no doubt -I am currently paying for 2, 4€ each, Gamepass and EA Play)

Star Wars Battlefront II is the game with the best graphics I've seen in my entire life.

I played it at 1440p and the default settings the game set for me (turns out it is everything maxed out), at 1440p, with great HDR, and I dont know what to say. I just want to cry.

They probably didn't like the constant reminder that they used to make good games. :D
 their most recent good games are like 3 years old.I mean Mass Effect Andromeda -not as good as the originals but a fine game- and Star Wars Battlefront II, plus Titanfall 2.

Also Origin has a bad name. Gotta admit that I used to dislike it, even had to resort to their quality assurance department once. I had a few games I bought there but never played them 'cos I found the launcher unappealing.

Oddly enough I am in love with it -well it still has its issues but well- because of EA Access. I am curious about how are they going to name it.

It finally has a name: EA Desktop (already in beta, I signed in)

EA say the service will have faster downloads and updates, simpler access to games, and the ability to connect with friends across platforms.

EA are trying to make as many connection points across its games as possible, cross-progression, and cross-generation play possible on every game.

Downloading and signing in right now!

https://www.ea.com/ea-desktop-beta

EA Desktop? What marketing and focus groups finalized that name? It's stupid IMO.

Wow, what an immense list of games that I absolutely do not want to play.

Maybe I could get behind playing the remaster Command and Conquer, but I wouldn't want to pay a whole subscription just for it.

Isn't EA kind of lacking in everything that isn't sports? Last game I played from them was Fallen Order and A Way Out which were good, and but other than that, it seems during the 8th console gen they managed to screw up all their good franchises.
Battlefield, Battlefront, Star Wars games in general, Command and Conquer, SimCity, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Dead Space, TitanFall..

It has to be very telling that the first page of their PC games shows FIFA 19, FIFA 20, FIFA 21 and 6 expansions for Sims 4.

TitanFall..

They vastly improved TitanFall campaign in #2 and remained on par with multiplayer with possible improvements at times.

I did play the opening to Titanfall 2's campaign and it didn't grab me. Really must give with another go, given the praise it receives.

I've not played Fallen Order either. That'll be worth a download maybe.

Yes they did! Then Apex Legends appeared and snatched the franchise from its original genre, like WoW killed RTS Warcraft.

Titanfall 2 is now 4 years old, with no sequel in the horizon. Titanfall is dead. EA killed it.

Yeah, Apex stole all the attention away from proper campaigns and non PvP. Why bother iterating on something requiring so much work when you can add a new player, minor handful of weapons and maybe a new map every 6 to 12 months and watch the money roll in. :-|

TitanFall3 would be such a good fit for nextgen.

well.... EA has done wrong with some of those games, but those are totally different games compared to what they were a few years ago. The quality was there, it's just that EA made some important mistakes just when they released them, now they are totally fixed -Star Wars Battlefront II for instance was a microtransactions galore, not anymore-.

Mass Effect Andromeda, which I completed yesterday, is a great game! Not as good as ME 1-3 but quite good. And probably one of the best looking games right now --specially with HDR enabled.

Star Wars Battlefront II is a fun game with graphics thad almost brought me to tears 'cos I had barely seen graphics like that, and I am not a graphics-whore, but they managed to surprise me. Yes, the micro-DLC issue was huge but they fixed it ever since.

As for Dragon Age..., Inquisition is not as good as Dragon Age Origins, gotta admit, but still fun.

The full game list is impressive.

that's a game I purchased in the X360 era and it was a lot of fun.

I'd wholeheartedly recommend it. I completed Star Wars Battlefront II a week ago and it was superb! Technically wise no game I've seen can quite match it when HDR is enabled and the overall cleanliness of the image it's like it has 0 aliasing.

I also downloaded Crysis 3 'cos I only bought Crysis 1 -and Warhead-, and Crysis 2 but not the newest one -looks like I haven't been missing much-.

Additionally I am completing Mass Effect 3, at 165fps 1440p, it's glorious! Yup outdated graphics but the gameplay smoothness is sheer love. Back in the day I didn't buy the game 'cos I was so much into Skyrim and RDR and also had bought a TV and had no money for many games so I sacrificed one of my fav series, also 'cos of criticism of an non-conclusive campaign -which they later fixed-
