Accurate Human Rendering in Game [2019-2021]

Gameplay model/shaders, looks nice. Definitely improved over Uncharted 4/TLL :yep2:

You can still see the screen-space SSS artifacts on the edges of the skin so they are definitely using something similar for subsurface scattering.

It was running on 2x 1080Tis.

But in the presentation he says (3:45) "we don't need hw from the future, we can run this on current gen". Two 1080TIs is not what I would call "current gen hardware".

edit: where did you read this is running on two 1080tis

compared to the UC4 shots above it's easy to notice how much better the skin looks in TLOU2.
The eyes also make a huge difference. The eyes in UC4 doesn't look real and hence make the face look bad however the Ellie and Abby screenshots the eyes bring the face to life compared to Nathan Drake.

It's not only that the way Ellie touches her face and fidgets goes a long way in selling selling it.

Is the minions also got the same model quality?

Btw what even more impressive is that not only the rendering is ridiculously awesome, but it also awesomely animates! The Animations are interactive too (uh what's the English... Blends well?) !

Other games usually dropped its animation quality a ton while in gameplay.
