Baseless Next Generation Rumors with no Technical Merits [post E3 2019, pre GDC 2020] [XBSX, PS5]

Consumers don't have any idea about the various level of graphical differences, only forum goers do. Everything will be fine.

Also, I suggest you do the same but with launch-year exclusives. Compare them to current cross-platform games. They pale in comparison too. Not even launch year exclusives can stand by current cross-platform games when it comes to graphical fidelity.
They may not know much about the graphics techniques used but I'm sure many would notice the perceivable on screen visual fidelity. Also the notion that this particular crossgen title can be run on current gen hardware would psychologically lead them to believe that such game is lesser graphically to the nextgen only counterpart, not to mention the slew of marketing would heavily reinforce that idea/fact. I'm not making this stuff out of thin air here, tons of my friends share the same sentiment during PS4/Xbone launch. With the ever prevalence of social media, even the common folks are more informed than ever before, you can't just keep pretend everything will be fine forever.

As for the current multiplat, the midgen upgrades sure muddied the water a lot so there's far more variables to consider, not to mention they're all enjoying the fruit of labor in the form of technology progression in a span of 6 years. Then again, stuffs like Tlou2, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima and God of War are still at the top of echelon over 99% of multiplat out there, however we are getting slightly OT here.

The Series X should already be based on existing or (most likely announced) future hardware. Based on rumors we expect 12TF and 56 CUs along with support for RT and VRS.
XB1's same gen GPU(HD 7770-7790) doesn't comes with 12CU(7770=10,7790=14).

Why would you even sure PS5 game will look better than XSX just because some of XSX games will be cross-gen?

Now do you think same will happen with PS5 and XSX?

I couldn't find anything in two minutes of googling, but I'm pretty sure the X1 GPU consists of 14CU's with 2 disabled for yields. So the general consensus in reference to the XSX is that it will consist of 56CU's with 4 disabled for yields.

There is not even any released Navi GPU have more than 40(5700XT) CUs, how can we predict it fam.

As for PS5 vs XSX, the latter would render a crossgen game at higher res but still look worse than a checkerboard or lower res nextgen only game on the PS5. Let's see if my prediction comes true shall we?

Then you will never get the reaction you want, because they are different titles.
 
The die size wouldn't support a 9TF theory anyway even on 7nm, unless RT requires a lot of silicon space. The die size is pretty much the best indication of power.
Beeing max freq likely 2.0 ghz and CPU size known (besides different L3 sizes)...
 
I would rotate the CPU cores and bring the WGPs closer in as a row on the right but yea it looks like a reasonable layout for a 56/60 design.
 
One of the podcast someone pressed him on it, it's so frustrating how they do interviews in podcasts, they are not searchable so trying to find something back you have to watch hours of crap. And we misquote them from memory. I might be as badly quoting as anyone else. I really prefer the long form text interviews with gamasutra.
yea this is where AI is pretty useful. To be able to listen to all audio/podcasts and put out searchable terms or to script out the dialog for you. I think pornhub does this for tagging -- too many uploaded clips per minute, they developed an AI to tag different things in the video and when they are timestamped in the video. Aside from the adult content nature, those are the types of things we need to apply for podcasts etc. Would be very useful. Definitely an interesting problem to solve. Though fast forwarding to sound bites without the full context could have disastrous results in the long run.
 
The other thing to keep in mind is Microsoft First Party developers already support higher end PC configurations and have engines that scale from low end PCs to entry point consoles to midgen console to high end PCs. I'm sure they will continue to push graphical settings on each platform without negatively impacting the other platforms.

The only dramatic addition to GPUs since mid-gen refresh has been ray tracing. Which is a toggle. The other items, like SSD and CPU. That's going to take some time to take advantage of. Those are major engine changes, combined with world building tool changes, combined with gameplay scripting changes. Those are the types of things that take time for a studio to adjust and develop towards.

According to this tweet, a new capcom game announcements was delayed, in part, due to a PS5 redesign. How likely is that Sony was indeed going with a 9.2TF GPU, got wind of MS plans and decided to redesign the APU to add a few more CUs last minute? Or changes to the CUs themselves to have more cores per CU? Or maybe they tried to have a beefier cooling solution to push the chip past its optimal frequency.
