QUADRO DESKTOP/QUADRO NOTEBOOK DRIVER RELEASE 440
October 22, 2019

Version: R440 U1 (440.97) WHQL
Release Date: 2019.10.22
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit, Windows 10
Language: English (UK)
File Size: 389.54 MB

Release 440 delivers performance enhancements over the previous ODE, Release 430, with performance gains up to 30% for popular applications such as Dassault Systemes SOLIDWORKS, PTC Creo, and Autodesk VRED, depending on application mode and optimization settings.

Release 440 also supports the latest version of Microsoft Windows 10 operating system (November 2019 Update).

New Features
 Added support for Windows 10, November 2019 Update (Update 19H2)
 G-SYNC is now supported on windowed OpenGL and Vulkan applications.
 Added the ability to merge and scale content of two displays and output the final image to a separate display/projector attached to the same GPU.
Added NVIDIA RTXTM performance improvements for supported applications.

 NVIDIA Control Panel Texture Filtering Controls
NVIDIA Control Panel->3D Settings->Texture Filtering-Quality now visible for Quadro products and defaults to “High Quality”.
NVIDIA Control Panel->3D Settings->Texture Filtering-Neg LOD Bias now visible for Quadro products.

 OpenGL driver -
Exposed the following extensions
• GL_EXT_multiview_texture_multisample - Enables MSAA.
• GL_EXT_multiview_timer_query - Enables Timer Queries.
• GL_EXT_multiview_tessellation_geometry_shader - Enables Geometry Shaders and Tessellation Shaders.
Added the following extension
• WGL_NV_multigpu_context - Provides per-context control over SLI mode. For multi-GPU, multi-display configurations, the extension allows explicit control over the content each GPU renders to in each section of the combined display. For example, a VR-capable application can provide performance in VR using VR SLI and also render efficiently to a monitor using SLI AFR.

 Added Beta support for GPU Integer Scaling - New control in the NVIDIA Control Panel->Display->Adjust desktop size and position page.
Supported on NVIDIA Turing GPUs and later; Windows 10 April 2018 Update and later.
Integer scaling is a new GPU scaling method which scales smaller-than-native-resolution size source content by duplicating the pixels at the maximum possible integer factor on the horizontal and vertical directions.

Open Issues in Version 440.97
[NVIDIA Control Panel][Mosaic]: It may take several minutes to set a Mosaic topology.

GEFORCE GAME READY DRIVER 441.12 WHQL
I wonder what the new security features/changes/fixes are:
"Added security updates for driver components
See the NVIDIA Security Bulletin 4907 for details (bulletin content will be available after 11/06/19)"
And when the idiocracy of month-day-year instead of day-month-year finally end?

The date format isn't idiotic. It is more linguistically efficient and consistent with spoken use (for English) due to the absence of one article and the implied use of another.

If someone asks for the full date, one might reply:

It is June 5th, 2019.

It is the 5th of June, 2019.

The sharpening feature in the control panel seems nice. You can turn on gpu scaling so if you run below native resolution your gpu will upscale before applying sharpening. Seems to maybe look a little bit nicer. There are a few multiplayer games that I run below native resolution so it works out for me. Most games have some kind of AA blur, so I have it set globally and disable on the specific games where I don't want it.

The date format Nvidia uses is more in line with how dates are stored in databases, and lends itself to be sorted easily either in ascending or descending order.
The primary keys of time dimensions in multi-dimensional schemas normally follow this format for business reporting.

What? Which databases use m-d-y? That makes no sense for natural sorting.

What your referring to is an attribute of the date dimension. The primary key for date is stored yyyymmdd, which makes sorting easy.
You're still not making sense. You stated that the date format used (m-d-y) lends itself to easy sorting. You can't say that m-d-y is stored as yyyymmdd and therefore is easily sorted as that's not the original format and not what you said.

Huh! If you look at nvidia's release date the format is 2019.11.4, so yyyy.mm.dd is what you can sort easily on. Where do you come up with m-d-y?

lol no wonder I'm confused. The topic of the conversation you responded to was about Nvidia's use of m-d-y in the particular part he quoted, Kaotik expressing his displeasure of the format. You just assumed they were referring to the Release Date in your post :)

Nothing to see here, move along.

anyone tried this?

Yep. If you turn on ultra low latency mode and vsync in the driver, your fps will automatically be capped below your refresh rate so gsync will remain active at all times and you won't hit the vsync penalty. It works pretty nicely. Whether it's the best situation for input lag remains to be seen. Battlenonsense and Hardware Unboxed both found difference results with respect to frame rate capping, gpu utilization and ultra low latency mode. Battlenonsense should have a new vid out soon (this week?) about this new driver.

Edit: Battlenonsense found capping your framerate and turning OFF low latency modes gave the lowest latency in all games he tested. According to his twitter that was consistent and included games not mentioned in his video.

Hardware Unboxed found the results were inconsistent and some games had lower latency from ultra low latency modes and some games had lower latency from frame capping with low latency off.

... Because of course it has to be confusing.
