AMD Navi Product Reviews and Previews: (5500, 5600 XT, 5700, 5700 XT)

For those unaware of the media plugin functionality, you can swipe right or left to see the other benchmarks in that imgur album. There are 21 in total.
ah haha, thanks! Delete my post if you like :)

As expected compute performance is abysmal (a Radeon VII is close to 2.5x as fast in most workloads).

Power consumption is actually much better than I expected. Lower than 2060s and 2070s respectively.

Damn. Expected this, but not that bad. :(
I'll get me V56 for no money and skip this one. Was hoping next gen would be on par with Fury, but maybe not quite...

I didn't see the "s" on your first statements.

Anyway, I find it high for a "small" 7nm chip.

I wonder if it's a situation like Vega, where they overvolt the gpus, by a lot sometimes, by "default".

AMD have finally got a card that boosts over 2Ghz out of the box, though it does go down soon enough. But still 2Ghz is here, 3 years after Pascal. :runaway:

AT has synthetics that look strange, especially Vega doing much better on pixel fillrate,

DigitalFoundry found that Navi did away with the hitches they'd get in Witcher3 and AC:U with Vega, while it remains in Wolfenstein. Timestamp - 7m and 11m

Lots of bugs to be fixed, big ones : TPU getting weird fan behavior with 5700, wrong CU/mem readings in GPUz, 5700 not having a voltage curve :)!:) and DF facing much longer load times in BF:V.

@gamervivek
You should look at Frontend:

Since NDA is lifted:
Polygon throughput with triangle strips has improved considerably compared to Vega - the more culling, the bigger the difference. Also, geometry performance with triangle lists has beend improved.

Fully drawn geometry is now faster than on GeForce and about 33% faster than on Radeon VII, fully culled geometry is still faster on GeForce still, especially with triangle strips.

Thats why i wrote a long time ago to @Ryan Smith that he should do the Primitive Test in Beyond3d Suite. But never the less thank you to CarstenS and Ryan which are the laste one which delivers synthetic Benchmarks.

Really Big Thanks to these two guys!

Seems pretty solid I suppose its time for an upgrade. Real shame about that stock cooler though.

I dunno if i can wait for an aib version tho well see.

1.2V for a 7 nm part (5700XT), while the 5700 is only at 1.025V.

Many samples will probably run at much lower voltage like VEGA 10 did.
