I'm itching to buy a new AVR, but my future TV (maybe next year) will at least support VRR and eARC and I'm not sure I want to gamble on the TV I want will support running passthrough on Dolby ATMOS and other lossless formats to the AVR. Perhaps the extra bandwidth eARC will have will mostly be used for the smart TV functions, like future Dolby ATMOS in Netflix. I'm hoping next year AVR's will support VRR.
