Nevertheless, it's not a huge week one for Lara Croft. 63% of launch sales came on PS4, whereas Xbox One accounted for the remaining 37%.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider debuts at No.2, which means Spider-Man retains its No.1 spot for a second week. Impressively, the Sony game's week two sales are down just 42% compared to its launch week, and it's already on the brink of eclipsing the sales of the last big PS4 exclusive: God of War (boxed sales only).

On a side note, I'm pretty sure Rockstar has an official U.S. Federal Reserve money printing press at its office for GTA V. Sheesh...

  • RDR2 had #2 physical opening of the year [behind FIFA 19]
  • 27% of the volume of GTAV physical sales in opening week
  • ~double physical sales of RDR1's opening week
  • RDR2 got ~60% of the entire volume of UK's physical sales in opening week [compared to the 89% that GTAV got]
  • Sales split: PS4 68%, XB1 32%.

This is retail only, no digital.

That's physical. Xbox users tended to prefer digital versions for other games and I don't see RDR2 being any different.

Is that just reflective of the hardware split in UK?
The UK is MS' second best market, the gap isn't that big there. AAA western titles are usually closer. This is almost the type of split you'd see from a japanese developed game like MH:W, which was 72% on PS4.

Perhaps the bundle sold really well.

But isn't the global split between PS4 and XBO 2:1?
66 : 33 would be pretty close.

Sony and Nintendo financial reports are out, both are doing great [although I don't see how will Switch reach 20M for entire FY]. Sony is really killing it with PS4.

* Biggest opening weekend in retail sell-through across all entertainment releases;
* Second biggest launch (three days) in retail sell-through across all entertainment releases;
* Biggest entertainment launch of 2018;
* Most pre-ordered full game ever on PlayStation Network;
* Biggest day one full game sales ever on PlayStation Network;
* Biggest first three days full game sales ever on PlayStation Network.

So Buddha, my friend, I'm pretty certain RDR2 is leading for the year or 12 month rolling sales in the number #1 position. :mrgreen:

Between RDR2 and Spider-Man, more than likely Sony has October's NPD hardware sales locked up again.
