Steam, Origin, Epic, Twitch, Good*, *Games Sales [2007-2021]

Am I missing anything from the Steam sale? Most of the games on my wishlist are on sale, but most of them are VR games that weren't really all that expensive to begin with.

Any large titles that are having a great sale I should be aware of? Right now, I'm leaning towards TrainerVR. Because, yeah... that looks like just my style and I think I've got $10 in the couch cushions.

Seriously, AAA game ideas?

Wish I could help, most of the titles on my wishlist are on sale right now, but I only have 2 AAA games on my list. Doom and Dragon's Dogma.

The problem for me is that I already have so many games in my library from past sales that something needs to be heavily discounted or really compelling. And I just don't find many AAA games all that compelling anymore.

So I'd rather try to work through my game backlog than pick up another AAA game that seems somewhat interesting.

One game I can suggest though is Prey, the new DLC is fantastic, IMO. Unfortunately the new DLC isn't on sale since it just came out so you'd only save 5 USD if you were to get Prey + the new DLC during the sale.

SB

Interesting, the humble monthly bundle for next month features Overwatch. This is the first time I've seen a Blizzard title on Humble Bundle.

Fanatical.com has a bunch of bundles available right now, and some of them are pretty good. If you buy a bundle--don't know if it's any bundle or just one of the new ones (which is most of them)--they'll email you a code good for 10% off subsequent bundles, so you could get the $1 Crazy Machines bundles and save most or all of that lavish initial $1 outlay on one or two of their pricier bundles.

https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle

The Slayer bundle is an excellent, eclectic mix. The Infinity bundle is a decent, eclectic mix. The Redout Complete bundle contains Redout and all its (current) DLC for $20, and it's a VR title (unlike on PS4). The Aspyr bundle got me the Borderlands 2 and Bioshock Infinite Season Passes along with the Homeworld Remastered Collection for less than anywhere else, but not everyone is five years behind on their gaming.

Sorry, I don't know how Fanatical translates these prices to international currency, but they do add VAT.

Here are some IsThereAnyDeal.com links with Steam links and pretty accurate historical low prices for the games in each bundle:

Crazy Machines bundle ($1): permalink
Slayer bundle ($1/$5/$7): permalink
Aspyr Pick-n-Mix bundle (pick any 3 for $13): permalink
Infinity bundle $3.50: permalink

Also, NieR: Automata is $30 on Steam, the lowest it's been. The caveats are that it packs Denuvo and the PC port is poor and may require a mod to run well, neither of which are mentioned on its Steam page.

Kingdom Come, Shadow Tactics, and Battle Chasers: Nightwar for $25 altogether (and presumably DRM-free) at GoG.com for their 10th anniversary, good til the 7th: https://www.gog.com/game/collection_iii

Note that apparently Kingdom Come is only on version 1.3.1 in GoG, while Steam’s already at 1.6.2. Dunno what the delay is, but it wouldn’t be the first time a DRM-free release lags behind (be it GoG or Humble). Is this delay or a permanent state of neglect?

Edit: Their $10 anniversary collection is also a great deal. You get Owlboy for less than it's ever been, plus Homeworld Remastered Collection and Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition.

Edit 2: It seems Kingdom Come is up to date on GOG.

Three great bundles running right now:

Fanatical Origins bundle expires in 6 days 3 hrs

https://isthereanydeal.com/specials/#/filter:id/6576 [pretty accurate price and bundle history of the games]

$1 for:
  • Grey Goo Definitive Edition
  • Punch Club Deluxe
  • Rebel Galaxy
$5 adds:
  • Comedy Night
  • Gloom
  • Outpost Zero
  • Overfall
  • Remothered: Tormented Fathers
  • Rime
  • River City Ransom Underground
  • Shuyan Saga
  • Starwhal

Humble Day of the Devs 2018 bundle expires in 15 days 14 hrs, and the BTA is variable (usually goes down the first hour or two, then up). You can buy a lower tier and later (up to a week after the bundle ends) increase the amount you paid to reach a higher tier (e.g., buying in at $1 now locks in the BTA at the current $6.19, so increasing your payment an extra $5.20 even 6 days after the bundle ends will get you the BTA games even if the BTA was higher after your initial payment). You can choose how much of your money goes to the individual games, Humble, or charity.

https://isthereanydeal.com/specials/#/filter:id/6616

Pay What You Want for:
  • Full Throttle Remastered
  • Burly Men at Sea
Beat the Average (BTA, currently $6.19) adds:
  • Rime
  • Hotline Miami 2
  • Yooka-Laylee
$12 adds:
  • Minit
  • Hyper Light Drifter
  • Day of the Devs VIP Ticket (20% off at iam8bit.com and some perks if you attend Day of the Devs at San Francisco on 11/11)
  • $2 Humble Store credit if you're a Monthly subscriber

And the Humble Monthly which is $12 for
  • Hollow Knight
  • Hitman Season 1
  • 7 Days to Die
  • and a few more mystery games to be revealed Nov. 2nd. Scroll down to see what was in previous Monthlies.
You have to buy the bundle before the reveals! The games are 99% Steam codes (exceptions are the Humble original games and Overwatch). If you're new to the Monthly, maybe PM me for a referrer code or ask a friend for theirs and I/they get some store credit.

Also maybe not the perfect place for this, but for PC VR people (Vive or Oculus), Viveport.com has a decent limited-time offer for subscribers (you can use a free 14-day trial): https://www.viveport.com/event/dollar-deal

$1 (or $2, depending on your region) each for:
Accounting+
Arizona Sunshine
Sariento VR
Superhot VR
The Wizards

The 14-day trial looks like it'll also get you a $10 store credit on the 20th for their Black Friday deals: https://blog.vive.com/us/2018/11/15/viveport-black-friday-pre-sale/

Fair warning, there are some threads on r/vive that warn about Viveport being a terrible piece of software. It looks like the best plan is to use it to download the games, then uninstall it and just use SteamVR to launch them (read the top comment):
Some more reading:

Fanatical Kingslayer Bundle $5:

Age of Decadence
King of Fighters XIII
Metal Slug X
Oxenfree
Shadowrun Hong Kong Extended Ed
Simcity 4 Deluxe Ed
Star Wars KOTOR
Star Wars KOTOR 2
Star Wars TFU Ultimate Sith Ed
Styx: Shards of Darkness

https://isthereanydeal.com/specials/#/options:pending;/filter:id/6731

Talk about ecclectic! I guess they had some leftover keys from their Black Friday hourly deals. This matches the historical low for Age of Decadence and is half the lowest price KoF XIII has been, and neither have been bundled before (though they may start now, as it seems like once a game has been bundled somewhere it starts making the rounds).

If you only want Age of Decadence and its companion, Dungeon Rats, you might want to wait for their Steam bundle to dip back to ~$6: https://isthereanydeal.com/game/worldofdecadence/info/

If anyone gets The Signal From Tölva with a bundle and doesnt want it
I would be very happy to give it a good home tnx...
