Alternative Input Methods on Consoles *spawn*

I'm curious to (first of all when) but also how well keyboard and mouse support is going to be integrated on Xbox.

Personally I was sorta hoping motion (gyroscope) in controllers would become a substitute for keyboard and mouse on consoles..

MEMS gyros are laggy and imprecise. Trying to type or mouse with a tilt controller would be a total nightmare, IMO. :p Worse than steering a cursor over an onscreen keyboard with an analog stick...

Gyro keyboard is implemented in PS4 since launch and works well...
Several games on Wii and Switch use gyro as a cursor.

It's on PS4 but I never hear of it being utilised...Nintendo seems to be utilising it their games.

I've only ever accidentally turned it on and hated it every time.

I liked motion controls for throwing grenades in the first Uncharted, and also tilting it to jump backwards whilst hanging. I didn't enjoy it as anything more than a novelty when it came to steering in Motorstorm though.

I like motion controls as an additional, optional input. Hopefully, now that the Switch is out and selling well, we'll see more developers embracing such additions in multiplatform games.
