Inspired by the suggestion of Age of Empires Definitive Edition for a minimum system requirements of a 500 PassMark score I downloaded the PassMark performance test tool, and found it really good. It has a trial period of 30 days.

Webpage of this great tool! https://www.passmark.com/download/pt_download.htm

These are my results.

GPU RX 570--my favourite part.

2D Graphics is not its forte but it is okay.

RAM overall results are fine but latency needs to improve badly. I have the settings at the tightest values I could get from my memory: 13-13-13-13-26. Gotta switch the ram someday.

CPU Ryzen 1500X at 3.875GHz, does fine.

Disk, meh, it's okay for a typical hard drive.

Global is quite good.

Mem test is also good, maybe if I improve the latency..

This is the global result.

3D Mark benchmarks. All with RX 570 default GPU settings (1268MHz core clock, 1750MHz memory clock) -in fact I get worse results no matter whether I do perform a very slight or very extreme overclock-:

Nothing out of the ordinary this Time Spy benchmark. Maybe a bit of a stretch for my card, because it seems to run internally at 1440p which is quite doable in my gpu but not at this graphics level.

It's okay.

The test I like to run the most with 3D Mark.

The score of this one is really good overall.

Also this score is very good.

Absolutely, it's 3dm 2001 that we'll remember even in 10-20 years. The benchmark that we'll run out of nostalgia

Hence, none of the other scores of none of the other benchmarks matter at all. Just like the water in "Nature", history will wash everything else away, mercilessly.

Nature in 2003 3DMarks was very special, the only benchmark on the 3D mark suite ( including 3Dmark 05 / 2005 ) who was less bottlnecked by CPU that any oother one .

Win 10 64-bit, downloaded it at Guru3D and the 330 version ran fine.

Ok... i will have seriously think ( and dont try it obviously ), that even the install will fail .. now time for try 2003, 2005........

1080 Ti at 2050 core clock + 700 on the vram
Memory at 3466CL14

Bench #2

As of right now I hold the first position in the VRMark benchmark with any Ryzen CPU: http://www.3dmark.com/vrm/21001806

Man these bring back memories when I logged more hours on 3dmk and Athlon XP pencil mods and epoxied fans and RAMsinks on gpus/mem chips.

Just googling Mize and 3dmk still finds some fun stuff including this now-updated sig from Rage3d:

Rage3D > Voodoo 2 / TNT > Voodoo 3 3000 > Voodoo 5 5500 > GeForce 3 Ti200 > Radeon 8500 > Radeon 9700 Pro > Radeon X1800 XT > GeForce 8800 GTS > Radeon HD 5870 > Geforce GTX 580 > 6970 CFX > 3GB GTX 580 SLI > 4GB GTX 680 SLI

Thinking of swapping the 680s for 1070 or 1080 (+water block models so MSI) for my first dabble with VR.

[Thread derailment ends here]
