Where is pole position and space invaders???

Pole Position was created by Namco and Space Invaders by Taito. I know there were Atari licensed versions but they don't own them so maybe why they are absent what with Atari being money grabbing bastards these days.

How the hell can they say "remastered in stunning HD"?
I also wonder about that. And how much the original experience is going to change. My brothers purchased a Atari 2600 back in the day, well, in the early 90s iirc.

It's curious but in addition to what you said, Space Invaders II was programmed by Midway instead of the original creators, Taito, for some reason I don't know.

It would be nice if they made this for VR. You'd play in some virtual 80's bedroom with a 14" ctr tube telly.
Also, wouldn't it be great to have a virtual arcade with classic games!

Apparently remastering this in Stunning HD made the games too large to fit in a single double layer Blu Ray Disk and they were forced to release in two separate volumes

Oh did not think of that, maybe I should wait for the 4k remaster version instead.

Jokes a side, some of those games I put tons of hours in on my Atari2600

lol True that. A single disk would fit what, every single 8 bit videogame ever made? horrible

I am predicting these discs will be broken, because a blu-ray needs to be at least 100MB or something while the collection clocks in at 100kB total.. lol

Once you get past nostalgia, these will be the lamest games you've ever played and you'll very quickly tire of the collection. Games had no depth and little content and the challenges were either basic versus modern standards or impossible because game balancing wasn't much of a thing back then and longevity came from the game being basically impossible! A rental at best to scratch that itch, but you'd be bonkers to part money for this collection IMO. May as well buy a DVD of your childhood favourite animations from the era - man, were those dull and slow and lacking in story and content and animation frames!

It's better than 640x480 output now? I believe that's what the old VCS rendered at.

160x192 was the effective maximum resolution using sprites, but the background ("playfield") was limited to only 40x192. It wasn't for another good 10 years or so that home consoles could start feasibly doing resolutions around 512x480 and even then it was used very sparingly.

Not sure about the games on those discs, but Space Invaders, Breakout and Astroids where decently paced/balanced on the Atari 2600

And best animiation series EVER ->

Sure, but they had no depth or content and gameplay is basic. It's the same experience level after level after level with nothing but a high score to push you forwards. Actually that sounds like modern mobile gaming... And you can buy modern substitutes for those games now that are far more entertaining, so why waste money on a less entertaining BRD? eg. Why play Breakout when Arkanoid improved so much on the formula (because tech enabled it to)?

Best animation series ever is Avatar. Modern tech makes it far more visually pleasing and that's coupled with best story telling, characters, plotting, balance between seriousness and humour, and execution. Then go watch something like Danger Mouse with its 6 frames of animation and empty backgrounds, or The Flintstones with their infinitely long corridors, or He-Man with its recycled poses. Even something like Cities of Gold only really compares these days because its shortcomings are filtered through nostalgia's rose spectacles.

Anyone who's ever impulse buought a DVD of an old cartoon favourite like Danger Mouse knows what I'm talking about. You remember it being very entertaining but with adult eyes and the progress of time, it's a barren wasteland devoid of almost all appeal. Anyone who experiences such a draw to this collection, tied to starry-eyed memories of innocent yesterday entertainment, needs our help and support to not succumb, and not arguments defending these products!

Best animation series ever is Avatar. !

You know that you are really boring now? ;)

Animation series, sure, the technical aspect of it, Avatar is probably much better, I have not seen it. BUT as for a good animation series, Once Upon a Time... Human is one of a kind, at least in my mind.

As for the games, yes, its the same gameplay recycled, with increased speed/difficulty, but that is gameplay. More content or different "games" within the game does not mean it's better. And what makes a game better?

Space Invaders just increases the difficulty, by speeding up the game, which means it's harder to get a highscore. To me that is just as much a challenge/fun as GTA5 with I do not know how many missions. So I do not agree that you will find better/more fun games today. Maybe with shinier pixels, but more fun, there I do disagree with you.
