IMG issued yesterday its 2016 interim results. Nothing much to see from a company that's still recovering, except that they mention that 8XT is supposed to consolidate position and retain leadership in high end phones, while it still hasn't been announced (if it ever will that is).

Well they did say

....where the Series8XE has being seen to getting a lot of design wins and proven to be very successful. It's been the most successful product launch that we've had as a business so far.

Now you'll note that they did not define the metric on which "most successful" was based.

But how it can be more successful that any of the variants used by Apple, mystifies me.

Also given that they report Powervr licensing @ £5.1M down on the same period as a year before, when licensing is set in dollars, and you geta round 20% more £ for your dollar than you did 12 months ago, it seems this success is not related to monetary income, which seems "strange"

MIPS is an awful £3.1M licensing. This is a processor family that has been around for decades, and it got less licensing that the relatively new startup segment Ensigma.
