Battlefield 1 4K no HUD real life mode video

Well made video:
I've loved this song for a long time. Definitely the Dropkick Murphy's best work. It's completely different from everything else they've done, shockingly so.

Lol I just found out it's a cover, the original song was by The Fureys. Had no idea.

Pesonally I was looking forward to a slower more deliberate gameplay caused by most people having bolt-action rifles -> not happy with nearly everyone running around with 100 round drum mag sub-machineguns, semi-auto rifles & shooting from the hip machineguns.

Everything seems to be pointing to basically a WWI skinned Starwars Battlefront: gorgeous but super-shallow & twitchy.

Hooray somebody agrees with me!

Played on both PC and PS4. Didn't really get any battlefront vibes from the game play other than from the very similar UI. It played like Battlefield to me.

Been playing for an hour or so. Sadly, the cutscenes are low bitrate videos and the visuals look significantly better than in-game (even though there are compression artifacts), you can always tell when the game is switching from cutscene to gameplay. Game looks nice overall and it's not that demanding (50-60% gpu usage at 60 fps locked 1080p ultra with a single 970) but beware of a very strong sharpening filter. So far the campaign is interesting :)

TAA is good in motion but the sharpening filter (which you can't turn off afaik) makes everything look weird. Hopefully when it launches they patch in sharpening slider.

I canoot say that I am a fan of non interactive cinematics in games. But much worse are pre rendered videos.

Intro, UHD and 60fps on Titan X

Why did they intigraded sharpening? It was not in the BETA. When I cannot deactivate it I will not buy the game because of this shit.

Sharpening is waaaaaay too strong, needs to be toned down.

Why did they intigraded sharpening?

Most probably to counterbalance the lower than native res on both Ps4 and X1 and the added blur by TAA. But we need to have an option where we can at least adjust it, the default value is absurdly high imo.

Due sharpening it looks not as realistic as the BETA.

In general I do not like sharpening but that is really abominable even in FullHD. At UHD I would probably get sick. I wanted to buy this game with all DLCs but not anymore. They must give us an option.

But hey, good news! It's absent in the multiplayer :)

Just played a full game of conquest, it runs better than the beta too!

I hope your are right.:smile2:
Anyway, after your comment it looks like it is at least much weaker so far (unless DICE changes it at the full release). Thanks a lot because I am not that interested in the singleplayer.

Maybe they have sharpening in the multiplayer as well but it's night and day difference in comparison to the singleplayer.

Now snipers can use a transportable steel frame where they can shoot trough a small hole. This shield should be available for the support class which is equipped with weak MGs.

I really like this game. But 8 to 16 threads are needed for enjoyable framerates. It is no problem to get 144fps with an i7 5960X.

Sharpening is very aggressive in the singleplayer campaign. The multiplayer has it too in a less exaggerated form when fog is on the map.

Unfortunately the weapons of the support class are still very bad.

Yeah I have regular dips to ~50fps on a i5-2500k @ 4,5Ghz on 64 player maps. I once even saw 30fps for a second. GPU is 1080.

It's finally starting to make sense to upgrade. Maybe I can still prolong this if I can find a used 2700k somewhere.

Intel's consumer chips are all crappy 4-core CPU's and you have to pay through the nose to get a 6-core chip.

Maybe you can wait for Zen if it is in your interested price region. Whether a site upgrade is worthwhile for you?

I have seen that the i7 2600 has a significantly better performance as the i5 2500.

The ugly SSR in Battlefield 1 can be at least rendered in a higher resolution than in the Ultra settings. I created a cfg file and wrote ""PostProcess.ScreenSpaceRaytraceFullresEnable 1" into it.

I made a comparison:

First one is ultra settings in FullHD. Second one is the modified config.

BF1 SSR (2).jpg BF1 SSR (1).jpg BF1 SSR (18).jpg BF1 SSR (19).jpg BF1 SSR (20).jpg BF1 SSR (20.1).jpg BF1 SSR (26).jpg BF1 SSR (27).jpg BF1 SSR (28).jpg

The higher SSR resolution reduces the white pixelated SSR artifacts on the weapon.

SSR can also disabled completly with "PostProcess.ScreenSpaceRaytraceEnable 0" which is demonstrated in one of my uploaded pictures. Battlefront doesn't use SSR and I have not missed it a bit. SSR is an effect I do not like in many games. It often has too many graphical errors.
As far as I know the new Mirror's Edge uses much better SSR. I am surprised it was not used in Battlefield 1.

Unfortunately the sharpening in Battlefield 1 is much higher than in the BETA: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=221475414&postcount=828

DICE must add a slider!

On PC it is even higher adjusted than on consoles were the game is rendered in a lower display resolution: http://www.smartredirect.de/redir/clickGate.php?u=lnwCExJb&m=1&p=3d26AYJ0k7&t=p09f7K1v&st=&s=&splash=2&url=http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/189259&r=https://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=558760&page=139

I dont want sharpening especially between 1080p and 2160p.
