Sony VR Headset/Project Morpheus/PlayStation VR

Do big chinese factories stop during the night?
Honest question. I thought that keeping up with the production demands were so important that they would simply change shifts between their employees.
I thought they simply never stop? Complete with the suicides...

Automated factories rarely stop, they have a day and night shift although that's probably abused.

That's pretty niche. A lack of competing software may make it attractive to devs, but otherwise you're targeting 400k OVRs versus 50 million consoles versus 50+ million gaming PCs versus a gazillion mobile devices. Targeting OVR would be like targeting Ouya.

I think you have to look more into it being PS VR + Vive + Oculus as the VR your targeting. I still don't think it will be more than two million this year. However that didn't stop people from targeting the ps4 and xbox one when they had sold 0 vs established consoles and pc

I'm pretty sure they are building them in the states

The consoles were pretty much guaranteed millions of sales from launch. You'd expect several million install base from day one thanks to preorders, and some 10+ million come Holidays. As for the audience being PSVR + Vive + OVR, that's not something Oculus can or should rely on. None of them really should be looking at the VR sector and trusting the other competitors to be supplying the necessary install base to make a viable platform and business. It'll be lucky for OVR if PSVR provides millions of VR users and so offers a target platform for devs to release software on OVR as ports. And if PSVR doesn't provide a decent sized install base (what price??), the whole software market might dry up.

It's as if the VR companies haven't really consider that aspect and just assumed devs would create content. Kinda like launching a video disk format and hoping studios will publish to it instead of securing content from the outset to make the format worth buying.

They started in June I believe however.
Off-topic, but I'll bite...

So Oculus submitted an "engineering sample" to the FCC in October. That is usually a "pilot run" of a handful of units.

They only got the test results on December 17.
Proprietary RF is not simple to get approved.
It's doubtful they started mass-production before January.

The FCC document clearly indicates it's Made in China.

I wouldn't put much hope into this. This looks like last week's rumor which continues to spread, but it's mutating and evolving.

The patient zero was: Reddit poster claims an unofficial sony rep had heard rumors they are hoping for 299.

While the OC3D article literally claims "A Sony representative has stated that PlayStation VR will cost $299" which never happened.:no:

the internet -- quoting a quote that quotes a quote, thereby making it true.

It's evolution, the sentence mutations get higher chances to procreate when the words allowed it to wins more click money, tricking the journalist into choosing them. The rumor adapts to survive:

"A Sony representative has stated that PlayStation VR will cost $299"

reddit user -> (didn't propagate)
unofficial sony rep -> a sony representative
heard rumors -> has stated
hoping for -> will cost

As we can see, the more the phenotype is capable of expressing confidence, the higher the chances of reproduction.

Check your country's imports certification board.

Psvr should appear there before the official launch

I'm in the greatest Nation in the world , The US of Fin A.

But i'm saying its a short time frame for an expensive device. The ps4 release date was announced what 6 months before
