Star Wars Battlefront [PS4, XO]

A weak campaign in a BF game does not necessarily mean a Star Wars campaign should also get the same treatment, as log as you have talented devs with enough budget to work on a single player experience I'm sure people would want to play it. That said I'm not holding my breath for the Battlefront franchise, the real meat for me is the next gen Force Awakens title.

The game needs a single player mode. I'm starting to think I might not bother with it tbh.

The lack of story driven campaign blows my mind. I'll be playing the beta offline with bots because it I want to be in Star Wars and it's the most convincing game I've seen but I doubt I'll put more than a few hours into it.

Given the last Star Ware game (1313) was cancelled I won't hold my breath until it's actually released. And reviewed. And actually good.

Looks really good on this supposed PS4 footage I just randomly ran across! This particular level jumps out at me

Sometimes the graphics and animations look a little "odd" though. Almost "kiddie". Or too photorealistic. Hard to put my finger on it, but definitely some of the third person animations are weird.

its up for Xbox, just use the Japan or Australia store and its live already and has been for a while. Not played it yet but its ready and waiting.

7.7gb I think it was for Xbox

720p on XBone.. erm.. auch?

Are there many more 720p titles on the XBone?

1080p all settings to Ultra and TAA (no MSAA available anymore), some screens on Tatooine have res scaling up to 130%. Performance wise it's as i expected, sits around 95-110 fps on my rig. Gameplay wise it's very much a re-skinned Battlefield from what I've played so far. Graphics are slightly better than Battlefield 4 but i think more credit needs to go to the artwork rather than tech being used, lod is very aggressive even at maxed PC settings, i can see texture/shadow/geometry pop-in few meters away from my character when running on foot, shadows seem low res even at max settings. Now for the good part, i liked the UI, very clean, i also really like the sound design, Dice are one of the best in this department. Overall it's what i expected it to be so far, re-skinned Battlefield with less things to do but with very nice use of the Star Wars gimmick. I'll play more games in the next few days to see if my opinion on the game changes.

Normal for Dice titles so far. BF4 and Hardline both 900P PS4/720P Xbox One.

It looks like it has a mechanic very similar to Destiny's supers...you get a few seconds to run around as a super powered version, in this case you become either Vader or Skywalker.

I think the beta is open to all in an hour on XBO maybe I'll check it out.

I'm playing the beta right now.
I loaded it up on my ps4 and well...my jaw dropped !
There was a heavy bit of doubt earlier this year but it seems
it was unfounded !

Seriously if this Beta is anything to go by the final game will be GORGEOUS!

The environment is sterile as hell, repeated textures every where, little to no physics based destruction, no wild lives but the lighting looks good tho, still nothing too out of this world. 900p or 720p on the consoles is definitely not warranted.

@ultragpu that is the future DICE wanted if we look at their destruction/dynamics. Starts with BFBC with very high destructibility and dynamic FX, then it only goes downhill.

Their previous game, Battlefield 4, is much better when it comes to destruction than Battlefront though. Both in scripted and non-scripted scenarios, and that's with 64 players instead of 40 on the map.
