The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt revealed

I caved and bought this last night. Suddenly had a strong urge for some RPG. Since it didn't finish downloading till this morning I bought Final Fantasy 4 and installed that (only 650MB) to pass the time. Now I'm into it and probably won't hit The Witcher till I finish it :)

It's going to be like going from a boy band concert to a death metal show ;)

Yesterday, I noticed a considerable drop in stability. In places where I'd be getting a solid 60 fps, now has noticeable dips. I didn't change anything, and it doesn't look like TW3 had an update. I even reverted back to the previous nvidia drivers, with no difference.

To top it off, DSR is screwed up too. Things are being cut off the screen now, text mainly, and turning it to certain resolutions causes a strange flickering around the edge of the image. Anyone know what's up?

oh my god

Don't know for sure, but it looks like custom .ini modifications to give more vegetation + what he mentions in description.
DSR/VSR makes a difference for sure as when I played in 3200x1800 downsampled to 2560x1440 it looked considerably better.

EDIT!
Patch 1.05 is out!!

Though you can't screenshot DSR/VSR.

I started playing last night and was so amazed I immediately bought another copy for my brother and transferred the game over the LAN (gigabit Ethernet - 60GB in 3 minutes :D) to his comp. It runs great at 1080p max settings (including hairworx) on my 970 and 3770K. Also runs well on my bro's i5-3550 + HD7950 with tessellation limited to 16x in the AMD driver. His monitor is only 900p.

This game rules.

So if you mean that then no, you can't. It also looks more cinematic when downsampled ...
That's what I'm saying :) You can't actually screenshot what DSR/VSR does, unless you have a feed capture from the port.

Adds a series of color-blind friendly features. Improves visibility of tracks, marks, footprints and scent clues. Color-blind friendly features can be enabled in the Options\Gamplay submenu.

Thank, goodness. Being a bit red/green color blind, the tracking quests were a royal PITA. Hopefully, their color blind options are good. Will give it a go later.

I'm going to get this during the steam sale next week (even if it doesn't come on sale), are there any good reasons to import my old save file? I initially left the dude at the end alive but afterwards I reloaded a save file and killed him to see if the ending would be any different. I believe that is the only save I have left but I don't want to import a save file with him dead.

Apart from previous choices you made, is any gear transfered?

You might want to see this video

For those who didn't complete The Witcher 2 there is a way to carry over decisions from The Witcher 2 to The Witcher 3.

As soon as you start The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you are presented with a sequence in which you are asked some questions. They are some sort of a review or recap for The Witcher 2. You will be asked to remake your decisions from the previous title.

You should be. I'm using a 2500k @4.4 Ghz with everything I like enabled (only things disabled are things I hate like motion blur and hairworks, for example).
