The Arstechnica article give a stupid estimation of 560000 PS4 sold worlwide between 12th of August and end of September. They sold more than that via NPD data in US alone. And we know via NPD and Media Create sales, the PS4 best selling territory is Europe not North America...

That's crazy!

That would mean A) XB1 is super supply constrained or B) MS has halved XB1 production significantly due to poor sales. Neither A or B sounds plausible. Given PS4 worldwide sales, it wouldn’t be surprising that Sony has 2-3 million PS4s within the supplier/vendor channels.

MS only having 300k sounds ridiculous… minimally they should have 750k floating within these channels.
 
Well technically he didn't deduce the 300k figure, he asserted it. His cockamamie analysis assumes the best case scenario where XB1s are flying off the shelves and are sold out in most places. I dunno why Ars indulges this breed of fiction TBH.
 
At Amazon.fr currently the XB1 + fifa bundle at 355€ is 84€ less expensive than the PS4 + Fifa bundle (439€).

That's crazy considering 11 months ago the XB1 was 100€ more expensive than PS4.

SMH. :/

If he was going to do that… then he should have used November-January as a reference point (XB1 flying off the shelves). MS announced that 3 million XB1s were sold through worldwide in January and that 3.9 million were shipped at the end of December. Thus, leaving 900k units available within the distributor/vendor/retail channels during the biggest sales period. But for him to surmise 300k only - is suggesting XB1 sales has fallen off the map.

Looks like Nintendo are giving Microsoft a run for their money.

I did notice that every single YouTube video I view has an advert for the Xbox One Sunset Overdrive bundle. Without fail. It's all over the TV here in Blighty too.

He can't make up units shipped, so he's constrained there.

To be as optimistic as possible he asserts that Microsoft's shipped figures are near equivalent to sell through. So in his alternate reality that would mean that demand is huge and MS is severely supply constrained like PS4 was.

In France and maybe other european country , some new PS4 bundle for 449 euros appear one with Drive Club and FIFA 15 and another with Minecraft and FIFA 15...
 
By all the accounts [several interviews with Yoshida], TLG project is still alive. Most probably that's why Amazon did not remove those pages.

Mate the article was written by kyle from arstechnica. Don't know if you go to that site but disregard everything he writes esp about consoles. He's written articles there where xbox360 vs ps3 resolution difference of ~10% is massive. Yet 125% resolution difference for ps4 vs xbone is slight that you can't see without a magnifying glass :)

Another big [desperate] move by MS, they are lowering the prices of ALL Xbox One hardware SKU-s for $50 at participating USA retailers between Nov2 and Jan3.

Nadela is really willing to burn through lot of cash to ensure that Xbox remains in good position.
