Formula 1 - 2014 Season

The force of the impact throws one of the marshalls on the ground who was guiding the front of Sutils car with a tether as it was being hauled away by the tractor

What sort of shockwave do you think there was from the accident? The marshal jumped / ran / fell over

Look, learn the rules. The green flag was AFTER the accident, no danger ahead so green flag is appropriate.

Flags are only valid AFTER you have driven past it. Both accidents are in a the same section, which was covered with double yellows.

Agreed except the tower is literally on top of the scene of the accident and the marshall was waving double yellows up to shortly before the bianchi hit in virtually the same place so that argument is inconsistent, doubly so when the marshall is then directed to change back from green flags to yellow again - the sector did not move. Simply they jumped the gun to go green because the tractor was *about* to move out of the in track area. Flags will be waved from before the corner of course but they do so at several pint not just the one.

There was no danger after the Marshall station so it didn't really matter. If we are to believe that bianchi didn't understand the rules, ignored the yellows on his steering wheel and that his team told him about the yellow section then you might have a point.

The tractor was probably 100 meters away from the guard station when they put the green back out, there would be virtually no way for a driver to get the green flag and then hit the tractor unless they were reversing up the track.

I understand what you are trying to say but it really has no relevance to the crash at all.

Sounds like bullshit but as every Twitter picture from Mercedes from last weekend showed Rosberg in front maybe there is truth to it.

Alonso & Hamilton both at McLaren, that's a scenario that can't end well (this time either)

That aside, McLaren has denied the Hamilton-rumor

no,if you actually watch the amateur video of the crash the tower is literally at the scene if the accident...not probably 100 metres away...

Alonso at Mercedes = winning car
Hamilton at McLaren = Honda love and a really fast driver.
Vettel at Ferrari = German ace behind the wheel again.

Their Facebook page still has plenty of new smiley LH pics for the world to see.

That's just absurd. If Lewis leaves Mercedes, it won't be because of any Honda love. Vettel is in a slightly different position however - he already has 4 WDCs, so for him, the incentive to find new challenges to add to his legacy is bigger, especially given that a fifth WDC is unlikely at Redbull. Alonso too - he's aging and he wants another WDC. To some degree, Lewis is in the same boat; He wants another WDC too and he is in the best place to be right on track.

Honda would love it.

Marussia will drive only one car at Sochi according to finnish F1 broadcaster, even though even Formula1.com said Rossi would drive the 2nd car.
Most disappointed are the people who expected Putin to step in and drive the other car, as obviously he would have not only won the race, but he would have won in so overwhelming manner that they would have granted him the drivers championship win, too.

What happens when you are doing 350kmh and suddenly the pit lane limiter goes on?, could even happen before the driver even notices the flags

The car will slow down.

The onus well be on the team's to ensure they know.

Let's not forget also that yellows are indicated on the steering wheels.

And 350? Exaggeration much.

It's exaggerating obviously, but forcing the limiter on will cause more accidents than save from them, for example if you're in the middle of a fast corner and you suddenly get limiter on, you'll definately end up out from track, possibly dangerously.

The "limiter" thing as it is can't work, if they can make a system that will slowly lower your max speed when you get near yellows, it could work, but that's about it.

It's is unlikely that they go straight to double yellows so drivers would unlikely be caught out.

Left in the drivers hands they won't slow down.

As far as I know the limiter doesn't apply brakes so if it cut the engine until a pre agreed speed is reached then it wouldn't cause any problems cars would gradually slow down to the required speed.

If you can call 1G deceleration "gradual"...
