That 600k number is from Vgchartz, which isn't reliable.

It's far more likely he just meant that the preorder ratio is higher for them in Europe than NA. And/or that for the size of the US population, they'd hope to see a higher amount of preorders there in comparison (ie. more population yet similar numbers to Europe).

The Fox news lady tried to get an up to date figure from Tretton but he wouldn't budge :)

Anyways... can we please stick to Sony/PS4 talk and leave the versus stuff out of this thread too?

Neat, any news on the sound, graphics etc from the boot.

Haha nice subliminal message over there
Banderas looks at the PS3 and when the guy turns on the console he does a facial expression of enjoyment and lays back.

Looks quite nice like that, but I'm sure most people won't have it stacked vertically. And the light needs to switch off or have an OS setting so it's not glaring at you during use.

I know a lot of people who prefer vertical position of consoles. Even I dont have a place for a horizontal console, vertical is my only choice [and PS4 looks awesome in that position :)].

I really hope there will be no intentional downgrade of PS4 games, very sleazy move. Even without spending money, developers could flip few switches to give PS4 players better shadows, better LOD distances, etc.

I fully expect that there will be technical problems on both console in the 1st year of their life, but intentional downgrade is unacceptable...

I suggest we consign this conversation to the thread about cross-platform development. I'll just finish by saying that if your interest in buying a game is based on hardware utilisation alone, you're not going to be buying very many games regardless of which system you buy.

http://www.gamepur.com/news/12080-t...tailed-specification-ps4-world-created-p.html
"Playstation 4” is the next generation computer entertainment system which will be released by Sony Computer Entertainment towards the end of this year, 2013. Detailed specification of this latest system and its exclusive software titles and the new gaming experience that can be realized with the Playstation 4 platform will be introduced together with the latest information."

What does the bold part mean? Weren't the specs set in stone?

It could be a repeat of things that were disclosed in scattered interviews and combined for that venue.
There could be some additional values or platform features they haven't discussed, it's not like they said absolutely everything there is to know about a system as complex as this.

As far as set in stone goes, they can still tweak a few things here and there. It's not like anyone has bought the device yet.

101% agree!

How are Naughty Dog going to need so many development kits? Shouldn't one or twice enough for every developer? One thing is for sure, suffice to say they are going to make the first place in the ranking list for how many SDKs they have.

On a different note, Nolan North has said that he has seen some stuff running on the PS4 and he was so awestruck that he couldn't believe it was gameplay.

There has been a slight uptick in PR from Sony, most likely they are trying to counter the effect MS's steady drip campaign has been having since E3.
