Saw a Netflix adbanner on B3D for the first time ever just now. It offered a month (well, a february really, IE 28 days ) of free service. Naturally, the socialist communist nazi fascist that I am I clicked it. Hey... Free stuff! Who doesn't love that, right? Also, £0.0000000023 from Google for Rhys to help with paying server bills, so win-win!
...Anyway, it's past midnight so I'm just gonna check it out and wait with signing up until "tomorrow" (well, after sleeping period really), but I'm pretty stoked. I've been slightly jelly of all those murricans who could order up streaming movies (over their capped, bandwidth-starved internet connections, HA HA!) and now that option is open to me too. While I prefer to buy my movies on bluray if possible, not everything is actually available.
Then again, not everything will be available through netflix either (they've already admitted as much themselves, although in toned-down, opaque terms), and the fringe stuff you just can't get on bluray will probably be impossible to find here as well. ...Which makes it real nice that they offer a free february so I can check things out first.
