Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes

Kojima compared the map size of TPP with all the previous MGS games during his pre-E3 video show:

TPP has much larger landmass, aproximatley 4km x 4km, which is around the size of Red Dead Redemption map. White area is supposedly Africa, but he is not ready to talk about that.

He also showcased very brief gameplay segment on PS4

They will show more on E3.

So... you are happy that Kojima is preserving the spirit of his previous games in his latest masterpiece? :)

Of course, in this case last, last, last gen it's all sorts of good.
MGS has a special place in my memory and my heart.

IMO, that's exactly why MGS is so cool and always has been. You have at times really ridiculous humour that's just so unique to Metal Gear. I also like that the game, despite it's movie-esque presentation, remains very much a game in its core, with focus on gameplay.

BTW; Playing GZ; Anyone else bothered that once opponents are "KO'ed", there's no way to kill them, other than to use your gun at point-blank? Or am I missing some of the basic CQC moves where you can knive them while they're sleeping?

The same is pretty much the case if you walk to them and grip them or hold them at point blank. At that point, it seems pretty impossible to do anything other than KO them?

Well if I KO'd them I woke them up, hold them and the cut their throats. I did that by exception though as I dont like killing in MGS. Also I think its on purpose that you cant murder easilly a KO'd enemy. :)

So there is no way? In the old games, you could just take out your knive and slash them while they were KO'd. I often found myself playing GZ where a guard I KO'd earlier woke up and sounded the alarm just as I was in an exposed area, which was easier avoided in the old games... Having to use your gun seems kind of daft when he's walking around with a knive ;-)

Well you can use the other way of waking them up and slash their throads while holding them. Just realized I never tried to slash a KO'd soldier in previous games so I didnt even remember it was possible!!

Kojima still makes the best trailers.

Having now seen the English trailer, and waiting till end hear what Snake says, it is such a horrible idea to change voice acters. Especially after all this time. His old voice and the character are one and the same for me. I really don't care if the new guy is technically a better actor. Not really from what little has been shown so far.
