post something that people usually don't know about your country

All over the world there are old laws that are never enforced any more (and even contrary to newer laws) but still on the books.
like the icelandic law baning porn
witch has never been enforced
but a three female law students did try

Must be quite a few warrants out for my arrest in London then...
I think its the same here in nz, you cant be served alcohol in a pub if youre intoxicated

heres some good laws from various states in the US, still valid today I think

* Boogers may not be flicked into the wind.
* It is illegal to wear a fake moustache that causes laughter in church.
* It is illegal to sell peanuts in Lee County after sundown on Wednesday.
* You cannot chain your alligator to a fire hydrant.
* You may not have an ice cream cone in your back pocket at any time.
* Donkeys cannot sleep in bathtubs.
* It is illegal for men and women over the age of 18 to have less than one missing tooth visible when smiling.
* Baldwin Park: Nobody is allowed to ride a bicycle in a swimming pool.
* Chico: Detonating a nuclear device within the city limits results in a $500 fine. <- that will stop the terrorists

etc, theres hundreds
IIRC some guys were gonna make a film by going from state to state breaking these 'laws'

I propose they break this one first:
* Chico: Detonating a nuclear device within the city limits results in a $500 fine.

Also read once there's a law banning serving bees in a drinking establishment somewhere in the US, I forget where this was supposed to be true. Not that I can figure out for the life of me the exact circumstances that would prompt such a law to be written...

Prohibition back in the 20's?

They might not have gotten around to remove the "offending" law.

Prohibition would ban serving alcohol, sure, but to BEES? Wtf. That maxes out my surreal-o-meter to the point it shorts out.

I think this is something like a "nuclear-free zone" law instead of an anti-terrorist law, as the law forbids testing, manufacturing, storing, or maintaining a nuclear weapon or a component of a nuclear weapon.

The don't want them to get a Bee-U-I.

:)

I've read honeybees that get into beer can't make it back to the hive.
Some even hire prostitutes.

In France, it is illegal for women to wear pants [trousers for our British friends] unless they are riding or walking with a bicycle or a horse.

there are no polar bears in iceland 0 cero zero
its true that few have drifted over to iceland over the years but they were all killed on sight

One from XXX, in Germany (and every other e.u country) all citizens must take their home grown vegetables to an irradiation center.....

Since theres been a bit about mobile hones in the news recently
here in NZ its one of the few places where all mobile phones are sold unlocked, which is canceled out by what we have to pay in phone charges

in iceland there have been imported some animals as pets or for breading
all under the pretence if by any chance they got out into the wild there were no chance they would be able to survive
thanks to that iceland now has thriving postulation including rabbits , American mink
and in someway they have all becomed pests
rabbits in the island of vestmaneyjar were they are ruing Atlantic Puffin nests
