Recommendations for a free/simple 3d engine.

I basically want to create a 3d scatter graph that I can rotate the view around nicely. Cant seem to see anything on the web specifically for this, so thought a quick way might be to just plug things into a 3d engine of some sort (create small spheres at the given coordinates in world space, draw a couple of lines for the axis and that is about it). Don't need any fancy texturing or special effects.

Any recommendations?

Oooh now that is interesting, as my Arduino development stuff has mentioned Processing in the past as well!

Guy at work did some crazy scripting in Excel giving a seemingly 3D rotating scatter graph.

It was actually just re-drawing the 2D view fast enough to seem like a near smooth rotation.

Well, I havent done the scatter graph thing yet, got a bit side-tracked with just playing around with processing.

Did this with about 2.5 hours of coding.

Note that I do not do 3d coding of any sort on a regular basis, so had to dredge the depths of my memory to remember how to get a point rotated where I wanted it.
