Sharp transition into blurriness is clearly visible in the middle of the image:

What is interesting that
*) most people would see this image "as is" without thinking twice about the apparent transition;
*) computer generated image would never incorporate such "apparent defect" or "sign of laziness".

I think God enabled parallax occlusion mapping on the water, which is incompatible with AF. It happens in Crysis too, but at least in Crysis you can disable POM if you fancy better filtering.

I dunno Al that looks more like a bokeh filter to me, which is all the rage right now.
