NVIDIA Kepler speculation thread

Hard to believe it is the same demo at the same settings. Unless its a GK100/110

yeah nothing is mentioned about res and settings, since a little bit of optimisation it could even run on a Ti500 no surprise

EDIT: There is an article just popped up on GeForce.com about this, looks like they used FXAA instead of MSAA @720p? with a 200W psu..

EDIT2:

FXAA vs MSAA would probably also allow a single GTX580 to run it
Now the 200W PSU.. No way! With what CPU? Wouldnt a 35W CPU bottleneck a highend GPU? Unless that was running on a GK107 @ 720P!

That was posted earlier.
I haven't seen any other news stories about this, outside of stories that are repeating the SA article.

4x MSAA basically means for every pixel that ends up on screen you run shaders and everything else 4x. Replacing MSAA with FXAA will cut the needed calculations by 4x and replacing it with a single relatively simple pass over the framebuffer.

That would be SSAA.
Usually with deferred MSAA one does try to find edges and only shade needed sub-samples..

There are currently just two 7970's in stock at newegg, the cheaper being $600 and the other $800. Add TSMC's problems and the odds of Kepler launching at bargain prices is closely approaching zero.

Yup.

Even if they launched at 399 they probably wouldn't remotely be able to keep it in stock anyway.

Mmmm...do you believe in miracles? :D
Newer, sharper picture @ RedQuasar shows a connector tower with 2x 6-pin. Maybe they overlooked it on GDC and saw just the bottom one.

So probably no miracles, although Mark Rein looks with the card like an itinerant preacher.

I find it really funy how the card is wrapped in a sealed anti static bag and Rein is covering the woodscrew sides with his hands.
