Kotaku is claiming that existing PS3s are now 299 as well. Can anyone confirm? Plus is the HD still user replaceable?

The price cut will certainly stir PS3's stagnant sales. Too bad there wasn't anything interesting in the conference other than that.

Both IGN and Eurogamer's live blogs said the 80GB is 299 too -- 160GB will probably be 399.

Firmware updates have always come on Tuesdays, haven't they? I'm not actually sure they announced when the Firmware is coming. I think they're going to wait for feedback, update it some more, and release it in a little while only. But we'll see.

So, as of now, 80GB is $299, 160GB bundle SKU is $399 and then come Sep., Slim 120GB introduced at $299 replacing the 80GB SKU? Is this correct? And if so is there going to be a replacement for the current 160GB bundle SKU as well?
