[360, PS3] Crysis 2

Jaggies are there.

Doesn't look so great to me,seems very dull in lighting and way too much blur and ghosting.

I have great doubt will be great differences with the two version, but I'm talking of better smoothness, compared to the 360 version, with its sometime a 'mess' even in the close edges...

Captures from trailer (HQ 720p version from Gamersyde but still quite compressed). Interesting thing is one pic which looks sharper like it got CE2/CE3 ingame sharpening enabled when player was switching suit mode or such. Mind you I took all these captures as is (as I always do to btw) and haven't applied anything to them so that was interesting. Looks really good for a console game, especially the particle effects. Mind you also that the sky is clouded and foggy as sun light is mostly blocked compared to 360 gameplay trailer.

It does seem better overall at hiding them, but still there.

Whats going on with the overly done slide...just seems tacky imo. I never played Crysis 1 how many suit power were avail. I remember seeing speed, power and armor?

Good they finally showed it. And demo is coming too... we'll see the differences soon :)

Looks a lot better in motion than the screenshots, the motion blur adds a lot to the look of the game. Actually looks a lot like Reach in many ways they seem to be making a lot of similar artistic choices as bungie did for their engine. Is temporal AA in use in the ps3 version?

I don't want to make any judgements on parity yet, but the PS3 version is definitely not the cluster**** it was predicted to be. It looks good, runs at a semi-decent pace, and doesn't seem to have any tearing. Sounds like a good "port" to me.

Yes it supports gamepad with abillity to turn on assist even in options.

That's good

What are the specs of your laptop?

Pretty terrible, I have no place for a desktop in my room and my laptop does everything else just fine.

It's a DELL XPS M1530, 3GB RAM, Core 2 T7800 2.6GHz, 256 MB GDDR3 Nvidia 8600M GT and it runs Vista, haven't bothered upgrading to 7 yet.

There are some YT vids showing M1530s running Crysis 1 on mediumish settings and C2 should be better optimised, and i'm really only interested in having it look better than the consoles on my TV, so running at 720p and 30fps should be ok.

But I really do dislike the constant LOD shifts in the console versions, very distracting, shouldn't be a problem with the extra RAM on PC.
