Couldn't find a link to a more "reputable" website, but there it is.

Nearly 1/3 of Germans younger than 30 polled by Die Zeit believe that the US government could have ordered the 9/11 attacks.

Insane.

Oh there are all sorts of paranoid ideas about America and it is mostly instigated by left wing nut bars.

Well, with that attitude... look, you're not exactly helping, are you?

Regarding the topic statement: Certainly not!

I do.
America needs its friends, needs it's ailies.
This is a dangerous world. We need as many friends as possible.

Americans need smart allies. Apparently the germans have been drinking too much German beer and their brain cells have eroded.

Your right, but what has happened is that their "allies" have turned their back on America. Why? because of extremist left wing political motivations of Europe.(and Canada's leaders.) Something more I want to say but have no time for it, gotta find a job.

I feel like crying. What will we surely do without allies to beg us for money....

Wow ... when did you turn so bitter and full of hate Legion? Have you always been like this or is it only a recent development?

It still amazes me that so many Americans seem to feel that all the governments in Europe have "extremist left-wing political motivations"! Certainly, from what I've seen, they are mainly a bit to the left of the US political parties but we're not all communists, you know.

It is an education reading the messages in this forum because I had no idea that (apparently) so many Americans held this view. Is "Socialism" such a bad word in the USA? I can certainly say that I can't think of anyone I know who is so vehemently against socialism as many people on this board, even though most of my friends are more right-wing than myself.

American philosophy virtually centres around competition in every aspect of human endeavour. That's why many Americans don't like government, because governments are not there to compete and are somehow intrinsicly inefficient. Europeans are very uncomfortable about unbridled competition because of history, Canadians are uncomfortable with competition because of environment. Europeans and Canadians don't feel that everything should be fought over, which is what competition is. They are there to win, to crown a 'winner' and drive out the 'losers'.

Agreed Will, it is indeed the very core of America (and IMO one of its greatest strengths)..

The European media is partially to blame though w.r.t to the thread, the amount of conspiracy inferences they pass per story is quite worrisome.

I'm in France atm, and it seems that they are still skeptical off Americas claims that Saddams sons are really dead. /boggle

Do you realize that hardly anyone in France knows that a Nuclear centrifuge was found in Iraq? Absolutely everything that is positive for the American war effort is passed as an afterthought, everything negative makes headlines.

I saw a show called 'The devil in Bush', which was about why Europe has made him into a devil. It was a good logical debate, but even the notion of such a theme appearing as a show is troubling.

Fred i am overjoyed you realize much of this. I have recently a email to guardian UK concerning so of their editors historical rivisionism and their apparent slanting of evidence. One such article discussed findings of nuclear residue and barrels of nuclear materials along with a good number of trucks designed for chemical processing. The author seemed to dismiss any significance these findings may have had without providing a valid reason as to why. I have received no reply.

I have felt for a very long time the European medias have mostly given up on being objective for the benefit of leftist influence amongst their ranks.

I am amazed you can absorb all this emmotion from text on a page. Perhaps you a mind reader who, despite line of sight, can telepathically link to my brain and perceive my emmotions from the otherside of the world? Since i can clearly determine this isn't so I can likewise determine you have no idea how i feel.

Bitter? No. Why would i be? I am merely honest. A great deal of our "allies" are nothing more than leaches.

Will i think you are confusing motivation and determination with war like competition. Americans are dedicated to what they do and desire to do it well. Europeans and canadians, from my perception, are used to being some what used to being hand fed.

I amazed you, that's nice. Of course I can't tell how you really feel, but I can form an opinion based on what you write on this board. And over the past couple of days your comments in this and other threads have definitely stood out to me as being mostly negative, sarcastic or bitter in tone, among other things. Does that mean you are or feel that way in real live? Nope, but IMO there certainly is a trend showing through.

Not bitter? Well, I personally think that considering your allies to be nothing but leaches is a pretty bitter view of the world right there. So you seriously think that we have nothing to give to each other, that in reality all we do is suck out your wealth and power without giving anythign in return? Well, actually that's not true, leaches can be very helpfull for certain medical purposes. Somehow I got the feeling you were not thinking of that when you made that comment though, but rather just thought of a slimy wriggly thing that should be ripped off and stepped on (twice, just to be sure ya know)...
