I know I've harped about this before, but if anyone is interested in good horror movies, check out Korean cinema. One of my favorite horror movies of all time is a Korean horror movie called "I Saw the Devil."

Lol zed that's pretty hardcore. I assume you keep a running list and update it when you see something that is worthy?

Audition*(1999) Japan

I can vouch for this one, personally. It's great, but really gruesome and fucked up. I really like Takashi Miike. 13 Assassins is fantastic.
40 minute battle scene.

What do the asterisks represent?
no idea, they just occurred when I pasted this from a spreadsheet.
Ive always watched horror since ~1982 seeing the omen by myself as a kid at night, I was terrified, but hooked I had to see omen 2 the next week (sunday night was the night I was allowed to stay up after everyone had gone to bed & watch the weekly horror) of course when VHS came out used to watch those, the evil dead was my first love (even had the game on the nz spectrum, though it sucked)
@Dresden yes korean horror's taken off in the last decade+ nowadays its right up there with japan
@homerdog only from the last 7 years, useful to see if Ive already seen something, watched ~3500 films in that time (1500 horrors)

Wow there's some seriously fucked up movies in that list, seen quite a few of them. Several of them can't be sold in a lot of countries.

Cannibal Holocaust, Ebola Syndrome, Taxidermia and Eraserhead for sure. No Ichi the Killer? :) But I guess not a whole lot of them are in the "disturbing" movie section. I've seen maybe one-third of that list so there's definitely some intriguing prospects there for good horror movies considering the list of ones I have seen.

Thanks!

Ichi the Killer?
is decent 7/10 visitor q is prolly his most 'twisted' film (& also a decent one)

a few arty wierd surreal films there
The Cremator
The Baby
Valerie and her week of wonders
Possession
Alice
Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural
Tetsuo
The Living and the Dead
House

(talking about Braindead)
Hahaha... nothing is more twisted than this one.

This one is kinda fun because it is set in a suburb close to where I grew up. So seeing the film was seeing an insight into the Newtown I never saw (given it is set before I was born). It is a fun film but I prefer 'Bad Taste' to it. That one has a lower budget but is much more the New Zealand sensibility for humour.

yeah I prefer bad taste as well, jackson's most 'twisted' film though would easily be 'meet the feebles'

I saw Dredd today, thought it was going to be mediocre but it is actually a really good movie and well made movie. Those who've seen The Raid might see some similarities in the synopsis though.

Olivia Thirlby looks great as a short haired blonde :p

Didn't the Dredd's script leaked more than an year ago? I heard The Raid was completed in very short time, so it could give the rather wrong impression where the original idea comes from... :???:
