Hey I was just shopping for a few gifts for friends... I like to get them games they might have missed. I got my mom a DS Lite last year and she played Brain Age to death, so I'm getting her Picross DS this year, and maybe something else. It all made me curious; is anyone else buying games for presents this year? And where do you guys go to buy last-minute Christmasgift video games? I found the selection and prices at Amazon a little disappointing, although of course they're pretty reliable...

Already ordered Resistance 2 and i'm planning on getting Motorstorm 2 and LittleBigPlanet as well.
After that, i don't think i'm going to buy anything until Killzone 2.

I'm doing my part to defeat the evil shovelware monster plaguing the Wii >,>

Zack and Wiki for my brother and De Blob for his girlfriend.

Wii music for my parents

I buy my games retail...... the specialist stores are usually a ripoff so but there are good deals in the Kmart-type stores.

I've decided to give my younger cousins (sub-14yrs) Wii points for Christmas. I'm just going to stuff them in a gift card and recommend "old school" games to them.

For myself, I have never owned a handheld console and may have finally folded into getting a DS. I need to play that Zelda game.

A very cool Star Wars T-Shirt, some new Trainers, got my Central Heating pump replaced (Xmas without heating = NO !) and maybe the odd DVD. Nothing exciting, getting too old for silly amounts of pressies etc.

I am getting maybe money/giftcards from my parents and I am pretty much excluded from giving gifts to my family since I make close to min wage.
I am getting my GF simply money since she got laid off and she still have bills to pay- cell phone.
Would you believe her mobile bill is near 200$? I dont understand it, she has unlimited text and downloads but not unlimited minutes nor a whole lot of them (i think maybe 900 at the most?, and she does use the family share plan so her friend can have a phone but she claims it made her bill cheaper. Anyway..

I might cave and get CoD:WaW. It seems to dominate both PSN + XBL here in player numbers. I didn't want another CoD4 but the numbers playing R2 and H3 leave alot to be desired.

I know if I lived in Europe/US I would not have such problems :(

Merry XMas '08, a repeat of '07 :/

Bought LBP and Fallout 3 (PS3). My Xmas gift to myself. Fallout 3 has trophies now btw

Bought little big planet and lego star wars trilogy for ps3. Oh, and bunch of blu-rays from amazon.co.uk's buy 3 get on for free campaign. Average price per movie including postal fees was 12.6e.

cool, this thread is working out. :) my original intent was to see what people were buying friends and relatives (and how), but it's all been cool so far. Btw... it looks like i'm getting a psp for xmas. Anyone here who knows me have game recommendations?

I think my wife got me the official PS3 keypad that I hinted for, other than that nothing. I bought everything else I want, save a few like Fallout 3, Valkarie whateveritscalled and a few others for when I have time.

I'll buy myself the MGS DLC for sure though, I've being playing LBP like mad lately. My daughter wants to make a Winter Solstice level (no X-mas in my house!) with the new holiday DLC I got yesterday.

I got what I always want, good ol' cash, which I put towards my 46" LCD.
If you count everything I bought within the past month as my x-mas gifts, this is what I bought myself: TV stand, CoD WaW, Resistance 2, Far Cry 2, Hulk on Blu-Ray, 46" Samsung A650, Pioneer VSX-1018AH-K AVR, a jacket, new center channel speaker, new surround speakers, jeans and HDMI cables. Big month for me... fortunately, I was able to sell a bunch of stuff. However, Boxing Day is coming up here in Canada, which is like the US' Black Friday. :(

My wife asked me why Gamestop sold her a new game with the seal broke. I told her they are slime bags and return it ASAP. I don't want to encourage their poor business behaviors by giving them my money. One less gift for me, but it's the principle of it. I already dislike my local store because everyone that works there is under 22 and stands around talking about WoW while ignoring customers. It should be mandatory to have a manager in the store that is over 30, sorry to be age-ist.
