The Framerate Analysis Thread part 2

Pretty low averages for 60fps game and framerate range barely reaches 60fps. Can that tearing amount be right with upto 84%!?

I'm pretty interested about a more deeper ps3 AC brotherhood analysis in Rome compared to 360, because it seems suffer too much to me... anyone, please?

Any news about GT5 after patch? Because PP have removed the crowd for a better fps, from what I have heard. Sorry for my english.

Apparently no difference: http://twitter.com/#!/Digital_Foundry/status/17867779440906240

I'd be surprised if it's the crowd causing the performance issues considering how simple they are, and that the most significant drops occur when there are other cars and/or alpha objects taking up a large percentage of the screen. Additionally, there's the fact that there aren't that many crowds to begin with.

Very strange :???: now I don't understand why PP cut the crowd with the last patch...

Thats pretty much solid 30fps, very good.

Since there is some tiny amount of tearing the vsync option for 360 might be soft-vsync (EDRAM limitation?) while PS3 has regular vsync with tripplebuffering?

I read on other forum that the PS3 suffer from slow down while the 360 suffer from screen tearing when there's a lot of stuff going on screen on MVC3.

I suppose the game respond(system lag) is different between both version.

I'd guess ps360 will be doing a lag test at some point in the future. Guess we'll have to wait and see if it hits grandmaster's list of things to do too as far as analysis goes.

On another note, GT5 has been updated to support output to 5 screens. That'll definitely be worth a look... (OT for this thread, but should be discussed in the appropriate one... framerate thread I think).

I recorded myself of my 360 & put it on youtube. I also find some video of the PS3 version.

XBOX 360 version(at 1:31 you can see screen tearing there's more because you see them often :p):

PS3 version

It happen mostly when you do a super move. It seem to be the case. I didn't notice any major screen tearing on the PS3 version.

As for the framerate youtube is useless unless you edit them or slow down the video to 30fps to fit the framerate of youtube.

I've played both and have noticed screen tearing once on the X360 during the character intro. I haven't noticed it on the PS3 version.

The X360 also appears brighter and smoother overall. The PS3 seems to drop frames as well. I didn't notice any slowdown on either version and both are great overall. I played with the pad on PS3 and my SCIV fight stick on my X360.

Ps360 delivers again.

Evolution Studio again showed world class, rock solid 30 frames per second.
I'm really amazed by theirs streaming system, there so many object and details and there are almost non-visible pop-up, even on shadows. Really great job.

BTW any info about resolution in 1080p mode?

not sure about rocksolid framerate shows a high amount of tearing and a very small degree of frame drops. i thought "rocksolid" is something along the lines of say quantum theory which is 30fps zero tearing.

Hmmm, I thought tearing and framerate were kind of different. Almost every time I hear comments about a game, the wording is usually "...rock solid 30fps and no tearing" or "...rock solid 60fps but their is tearing."

It looks like rock solid 30fps framerate with tearing for this demo @ 1280x1080 + MLAA.
